“You see something you like?” he asked with a smirk.

“I don’t know. I’m still tryna figure that out,” I replied flirtatiously.

“Why don’t you come fuck with me and find out?” He nodded his head to another couch not too far from where I was sitting. I glanced over to Nova, seeing her and Shada involved in a conversation. Normally, I would have politely declined, but I decided to throw caution to the wind.

“How long have you lived here? I thought I knew all of the gorgeous women in this city, but you’re a hidden gem fasho’.”

I tried not to smile too hard so I wouldn’t inflate his ego too much.

“I’ve been here for a few years. I work a lot, so I don’t go out much.”

“Ain’t nothing wrong with being a homebody, but I would have never found you if you hadn’t left the house. I’m glad you changed your mind.” Zoe winked then took a sip of his drink.

“You’re a real charmer. I bet you have all the women tripping over their feet to get your attention.”

“I can’t even lie; I do enjoy the perks of being a single man.”

“In other words, you’re a hoe,” I teased.

“Naw, don’t say it like that. I ain’t giving it out like that, but I do my thing. I haven’t found the person I wanna lock in with, so I’m playing the field. I think you might be able to change that, though.”

I bit down on my bottom lip to hide the smile on my face. Zoe laid on the charm, and I was enjoying his company. He continued to flirt with me throughout the night, making sure I had everything I needed. I had been so caught up with him, I hadn’t heard the DJ when he announced the next performer, but the crowd went wild.

Zoe pulled me onto his lap where I rolled my hips, pressing my ass into his hard-on. One of his hands gripped my thigh while he held his cup with the other.

“I see you’re coming out of your shell. If I play my cards right, maybe I can get you to come out of something else,” he whispered in my ear. My body shuddered with desire. I could feel him growing underneath me, and it was thick and long. “Damn, Zoe. You came in here and didn’t even speak to anybody. What’s up with you?” A pretty, light-skinned girl huffed as she stood in front of us with her arms folded. I tried not to stare, but my eyes couldn’t help but to stare at the pink mesh ensemble she sported. I would assume she was a stripper because the only thing under the mesh dress was a bikini top and a thong.

“What’s good, Daysha?” Zoe replied, unenthusiastically.

“Damn, is that how you greet me? You weren’t this dry when I was on my knees, sucking your dick in your car last week,” she spat as she glared in my direction. Her issues weren’t with me, so I turned my head, still twisting my hips in his lap.

He wrapped his arm around my waist when she first walked over, and his grip had tightened the longer she remained in our faces.

“Aye, watch out with all that mess. I haven’t bothered to answer any of your calls or texts, so that should be a clearindicator of where I stand. You’re coming at me all disrespectful as if I made you some kind of promise I didn’t keep. You and I both knew what it was, and I made it clear what I wanted. If you weren’t down with it, you should have spoken up. You aren’t gonna disrespect my company, though. There are plenty of other niggas in the section for you to push up on. Enjoy your night.” My eyes widened as he dismissed her. I wasn’t the type to laugh at another woman’s misfortune, so I remained quiet until she decided to direct her anger my way.

“I don’t know what your skinny ass is raising your eyebrows for. The same way he tossed me to the side, he’ll do the same for you. In fact, I doubt he’s even interested in your funny-looking ass. You don’t hold a candle to me, bitch.”

“Baby girl, it’s bad enough that you over here begging for a man’s attention while looking like a Powderpuff Girls reject. Why are you bothering me when I haven’t said anything to you? Are you that pressed for attention?”

“You got a lot of mouth, but I bet your prissy ass can’t fight.”

I glanced over to Zoe as he shook his head no, holding me closer to him.

“What would I be fighting for? You’re directing your anger to the wrong person. Maybe you should be expressing your anger to your momma for not teaching you how to have respect for yourself or how to walk away when a man makes it clear he doesn’t want you. My momma might have been absent a lot, but she taught me not to be a man’s cum rag, especially if he isn’t spending any money. Chin up, baby girl.”

The liquor had me feeling myself, but I wasn’t worried either way. People often assumed I couldn’t fight because of my looks, but my pretty face had fooled many bitches in my day. As much as I wasn’t trying to take it there, I wouldn’t hesitate to defend myself.

“Bitch, fuck you! Get your ass up and say it to my face. I’ll beat those tracks right out of your head and drag you out of this section!” pinky the powder head raged with spit flying out of her mouth.

“Aye, what’s going on over here?” My eyes bucked when I saw the man who stepped next to the Pepto Bismol Barbie.

“This bitch is about to learn a lesson about keeping her mouth shut. I’m about to do her ass in.” She was fuming. When Logic locked eyes with me, he chuckled, then focused his attention on her.

“Naw, she’s off-limits. If there’s an issue, you gon’ have to kick it somewhere else.”

“What? Who the fuck do you think you are to tell me what I can and can’t do? Are you the owner of this club or something?”

“Actually, I am one of the owners, but even if I wasn’t, you still wouldn’t be able to touch her. If I were you, I would move around and find something safe to get into. Fucking with her gon’ have you somewhere on a missing person’s flyer.”
