“Dexter,” I mutter, wanting to keep his attention off my guys.

“Shut up, bitch,” he snaps at me, turning to my Omega. “Did you tell Apollo about our deal, Beau? Did you tell them how you paid me?”

I’m shaking so hard, trying not to fucking murder this piece of shit until I know Apollo only let these guys drag him in here because it was time. Not because they caught him off guard.

“I told them what you did. What you are,” Beau hisses, folding his arms over his chest, lifting his chin in defiance.

“What about you, Apollo? Did you miss me, pretty boy?” Dexter laughs, unbothered.

The way Apollo’s eyes turn glassy makes my heart race, especially when he blinks, staring at a fixed spot on the wall. He’s frozen in place, not moving. I can’t even tell if he’s breathing. This piece of shit is going to pay for what he did to my Alpha.

“Hasn’t changed one bit. Still a scared little bitch, aren’t you, Apollo?” Dexter chuckles. “New deal, Hudson. You want your drugs? Leave the Alpha and fifty grand. I want to be the one to return Scott’s favorite toy to him.” Dexter roars with a laugh. “I won’t even tell him you brought Beau with you, or that you’re clearly conspiring with his son.” His tone gets dark as he drags his fingers through my hair, making me wince when he yanks, tipping my head back.

Apollo doesn’t even blink, but it gets the other three growling. Hudson cracks his neck, pretending to consider the offer.

“If I give you Apollo,” Hudson starts as he takes a few steps closer to me. His words get a reaction from Apollo, who jerks his head to look at him, eyes wide. “You’ll let the rest of us leave? Unharmed?” He stops at an odd angle, forcing Dexter to lean around me so he can see him better.

“That’s right. I might need that hour with your Omega though, as an apology for the trouble.”

“What do you get from this?” Hudson asks, glancing around the room as he takes a few steps further to the left. “From giving Apollo back to Scott?"

“I used to visit him from time to time, isn’t that right, pretty boy? Scott will stop dodging my fucking calls when he sees who I have for him.”

“Is it true you hurt them?” The question sounds casual, but when I turn my head to look at Hudson, his eyes are burning with anger. With violence. I smile, biting my bottom lip.

Time's up, bitch.

“Yeah, Hudson. What the fuck do you think I meant? Obviously,” Dexter scoffs, and I pop the clasp of my bag open.

“Apollo,” I murmur. His eyes meet mine, cold and detached. “Ready?” I offer, tilting my head to the man beside me.

For a long moment I think he won’t respond, and worry claws up my throat. As Dexter barks at someone to grab him a drink, our eyes stay locked. Hudson cracks his knuckles, and Thor rolls his shoulders.

The men around us don’t even know what's coming, do they? They think their guns will protect them.

I tip my head forward and let him into my soul. The part that got revenge for my mother’s death. The part that enjoys what's coming next.

Evil men getting exactly what they deserve.

When Apollo flicks open his ring, revealing the small blade, I smile. There he is. Our eyes are locked together as I flick open the ring on my thumb, relief washing through me when he smirks.

Our souls are connected. By vengeance and a bloodlust born from pain and suffering. He sees me for who I really am, and he accepts me.

“One problem with that, Dex.” Hudson sits down on the couch that’s on the opposite wall from me.

“What’s that?” Dex chuckles, the hot air of his breath hitting my skin as he leans in.

“You’re never touching Apollo ever again. So I can’t let you leave this room,” Hudson purrs in the most delicious way. I bite my lip again as he leans forward, resting his forearms on his legs, hands clasped together.

“Ha!” Dexter laughs, gripping a fistful of my hair and yanking my head back. “I’ve got your bitch, Hudson, and you’re making threats? Fucking idiot. If I say Apollo is staying, then he’s fucking staying.”

My scalp tingles, but I don’t feel the pain, just the adrenaline as it courses through my veins, setting me on fire.

“He’s ours, and we aren’t leaving him behind,” Thor says simply.

I can’t help but wonder how so many of Dexter’s men walked into this room, looked at Thor, and then dismissed him as a threat just because they have guns. He’s twice the size of all of them.

Thor unleashes his dominance, letting it fill every inch of the room. The men around us fucking freeze in place, while Apollo is watching me with that violent sparkle in his eye.
