“Isn’t Apollo doing so well? All these Alpha scents, and he hasn’t stabbed anyone but Hudson all night.” I pat his thigh, smiling. “So much progress since the last time we were all in Haze together.”
“Only because of you. You helped him so much, in a way I never could have.” Beau’s voice strains with emotion as he speaks. My scent reacts naturally. Caressing his skin, I shake my head.
“I wouldn’t have been enough on my own. He needed you. Otherwise, he would have been doing better before you two were reunited.”
“You think so?”
“I do.” I nod. Apollo doesn’t seem to mind that we’re talking about him while he’s sitting right next to us, so I keep going. “He needed Thor, and Hudson too. It was a group effort.” I glance at Apollo, smiling when he blows a kiss my way. “Two Omegas to drive him wild, and two Alphas to mellow him out.”
“All of you drive me wild, actually.” Apollo’s chest rumbles with a purr that makes me squeeze my thighs together.
“Can the five of us stay here tonight?” Beau blurts, biting his lip before continuing, “I don’t want to worry about Scott showing up. I want to let go. I’ve never been somewhere he can’t find me, and even if he did come here, he can’t get to me without a fight bigger than he can handle.”
“Yes,” Thor answers immediately.
“Okay,” I agree, wishing we could just stay here for the next ten days while we plot that fucker's demise.
If Scott showed up to the hotel while we’re not there, but the trackers say we are? I don’t know what he’d do to Beau.
And I’m not willing to put my comfort over his safety, but just this once, we can let go.
“I wouldn’t be anywhere else,” Hudson adds.
“If you think I’m ever letting either of you out of my sight ever again, you’ve been misinformed. You think I’m doing well because I’m not trying to kill every Alpha that looks in your direction?” Apollo scoffs. “I’m not well; I’m worse.” His growl hits me between my thighs. He’s on his knees, taking our hands in his as he looks at Beau and me.
Pure intensity. Fucking hell. Everything I felt in that limo comes rushing back in, and I’m instantly slick.
“Thor says it’s too soon to mate with you, or you’d both already be wearing my mark on your pretty necks.”
“You can’t say things like that,” Beau whines dramatically, dropping his head against my shoulder, groaning.
“That is not how I told you to ask about bonding, Apollo.” Thor rubs his temples with his big hand, frustration and amusement bleeding into his scent. Hudson vibrates like a happy puppy beside him.
“But since we’re on the subject…” Hudson grins, looking just as ready to start biting as Apollo.
“Tatum offered him a room at ABO Care,” I blurt.
“Us. She offered us a room.” He lifts his head, frowning at me like I stabbed him with one of Apollo’s blades. Big blue-eyed orbs of betrayal locked on me. “You want to leave me there? Without you?”
Oh, stab me in the heart, why don’t you?
“You want me there with you?” I whisper. “Heats are intense. They can be…a lot. You heard Easton. We’ll be begging for knots and bites. Maybe you wanted to go alone or with just Alphas.”
“I want you there, Dream. I need you there. I can’t get through this without you.” He’s a little frantic, clinging to me even harder.
“When you say it like that…" I swallow the whine trying to slip free. “I guess we’ll need that room.”
“You’ll need more than just a room. He’s been altered in a way we never see because of how dangerous it is. Even oral suppressants can’t stop a heat for as long as yours has been prevented.” Thor sighs. “From what I read, you’ll skip right over pre-heat, and go straight into a heat burst. It could last hours or days. And it could return just as quickly as it ends.”
“Fuck, what will that do to Dream if she’s by his side for all of it?” Hudson asks, looking a lot less excited than before.
“I don’t know.” Thor shakes his head, scooting closer to us as Hudson moves to Beau’s other side, forming a triangle of Alphas around us. “It might trigger your heat, or it might throw you into a prolonged pre-heat.”
“We’ll get through it together,” I murmur to a very quiet Beau.
“Can I be honest?” Beau asks, turning to me with a shy smile. “I’m not worried. I’m not scared. I’ve never felt safer. I know exactly what I want. You.”
He’s got his hands on my hips, and my legs spread over his thighs in the time it takes me to gasp.
