“If I could, I would lick it off your body.” Realizing how feral the words I just growled are, I cringe. “I’m so sorry. That was very aggressive.” My cheeks burn with embarrassment, and I’m glad I have a mask to hide behind.
“It’s okay, I like when you’re aggressive. You’re like a dark pixie with a kill count that looks like an innocent fairy princess on the outside.” Apollo winks before pulling his mask back on. “If it makes you feel better, I did try to kidnap you after I smelled your scent. Licking sounds fun too though.”
Who is this playful Alpha, and what happened to the man that kept trying to stab everyone?
“Fuck yes,” Hudson growls when Apollo passes by him on his way to the door. He hisses, eyes locked on the other Alpha as he presses a hand to his side.
When I catch a flash of metal, I snort. Okay, so he’s not changed; he’s healing. Wait. He actually stabbed Hudson?
Why is Hudson trembling like he’s about to come…? Oh my, he’s tenting those linen pants. Apollo holds his intense stare with one of his own. I can’t tell if I should be worried about their scents lighting up with desire. Thor’s smirk is new, and when he licks his lips, I know I’m losing my mind.
“You can stab me any time you like, as many times as you want. I’ll bleed myself dry if it makes you feel safe, Alpha.” Hudson’s growl sends a shiver of pure lust down my spine. Oh no. I squeeze my thighs together as a trickle of slick wets my thong.
Beau sucks in a sharp breath, trembling.
We’re about to hotbox a limo with our scents, and I have never been more excited for something that’s absolutely terrifying me.
“What the fuck is my life?” Beau laughs, all breathy and sexy, looking down at me with wide eyes. “I never thought I’d see him again, but here he is, flirting with me?” Beau frowns, leaning in to whisper in my ear. “That was what he was doing, right?”
Please keep those soft lips away from my earlobe, Beau. My legs are already shaking.
“Oh yeah.” I nod, refusing to let go of Beau’s hand. I’ll drop to my knees if he releases me. “In his own, uniquely Apollo way, that was absolutely flirting.”
Hudson is watching Apollo with an expression so fucking intense I don’t know how they’re not both already naked.
“Stabbing Hudson also appears to be flirting,” I whisper to Beau, giggling when he nods in agreement. “They’re all hard,” I add, wide eyes bugging. “We’re doomed when we get in that limo. Don’t let me go, or I might end up knotted."
The look Beau gives me says he will offer me up on a platter to watch them knot me. Thankfully, Thor breaks the tension before I can fully lose my mind.
“I would be more worried at this point if he wasn’t trying to stab us.” Thor looks so good, his long sleeves rolled up to reveal his forearms, his eyes on Apollo while I check him out.
“Have you scented him yet?” Beau takes a step closer to Thor, pulling me with him.
“No. He’s been holding out for years,” I huff. But tonight he’s not wearing blockers. For the first time since I met him, he’s blocker-free. I’ve now seen him in nothing but briefs, but never once gotten even a hint of his scent. He’s kept his distance from us. Maybe he’s being shy.
I sniff the air as we pass him. Nothing. Ugh. Damn it. Surely once we’re in the elevator, we’ll get a hint of his scent?
Wait! What if he’s using blockers that wear off after a short time?
“Time release blockers?” I ask as we pass Thor, glaring at the man that smirks, winking at me. “Knew it,” I mutter. Without another word, we follow Apollo into the hallway.
“Oh fuck me,” Thor growls in a husky voice.
“Jesuuuuus fuck,” Hudson groans a second later, and Beau snorts.
“I think they just got their first glimpse of the back of your dress. The front is criminal, but the back must be a form of malicious teasing,” Beau says conspiratorially, making me giggle.
“Awe, you say the sweetest things,” I murmur, my words husky when my chest rumbles with a real purr that slips free. Beau’s eyes go wide, and I hide my face against his bicep while we walk.
“Was that your purr?” he asks in awe. I nod, not lifting my face for a few more steps. He was so far gone last night he must not have heard it, but at least I had an excuse to let it slip free.
My instincts and hormones were in control. Right now? I’m just turned on brighter than a megawatt lightbulb. Should have snuck away to the bathroom before we left…
“Yes.”
We’re quiet as we step into the elevator behind Apollo. The other two are right behind us, and when I look up at them, they’re both keeping their eyes locked straight ahead.
I take a sharp breath when the elevator’s movement makes my stomach flip.
