“Or I’ll show you what my crazy looks like.” I give his head a little shake. “And if you ever do something that hurts Beau,” I warn in a low voice, wanting him to hear every last word, “I will show you what your skull looks like turned inside-out.Mm-kay?"I smile sweetly, releasing his chin with a shove.
My resistance to his dominance gets him growling, only making me smile more.Go on, heartbreaker. Show me how scary you are.Big scary bad boy Alpha. Rawr.
His eyebrows shoot up, head jerking back. Oops, did I just ‘rawr’ out loud?
Our stare-off only lasts another second, though, ending when I hear the key card chirp from the other side of the hotel and then the click of the heavy entrance door as it opens.
Oh shit…
Chapter Ten
DREAM
It’s unexpected, but I don’t panic. Not yet, anyway.
It’s most likely Thor. Maybe Apollo sent him to check on us.
Hudson doesn’t seem to share these thoughts, because in seconds he’s off me, off the bed, and facing the entrance like some kind of superhero that just heard his code word.Super Hudson to the grumbly rescue!
“Stay here,” he barks, trying to use his dominance to force my compliance, but he’ll need to put moreoomphinto it next time if he has any hope of getting me to listen.
“That’ll be a cold day in hell,” I murmur under my breath, snorting at his audacity.
Issuing orders? Who does he think I am?Super Bitch, the grumbly one's sidekick?I snicker to myself as I get off the bed. My earpiece fell out in my sleep, and I don’t see it. Should have left it somewhere safe. Damn.
Hustling out of my room, I’m moving toward the bathroom door so I can check on Beau. Let Hudson worry about whoeverjust walked in here when I hear the Alpha shout, and I know damn well it’s not Thor he’s talking to.
Why can’t I have one single peaceful hour?
The life of an Omega is a stressful one, no matter where you are or if the sun hasn’t even risen yet.
“Who the fuck are you, and why the fuck are you in here!?” Hudson snaps, and I turn away from the bathroom, watching the large Alpha’s back carefully, unable to see around his form. He’s tense, muscles tight, ready to attack.
I sniff, trying to get an idea of who it might be by their scent, trying to tell if they’re a threat or if this is just an overreaction to the maid, but there’s nothing in the air.
“She’s not yours. You shouldn’t touch her,” Apollo growls at the other Alpha, and all thoughts of caution are abandoned. I need to prevent the murder that's about to go down.
I skitter around Hudson until I see Apollo and hold two hands up. He’s already raising his knife but lowers it when I place myself in the stab zone.
The fact that he immediately resorts to stabbing, rather than talking, is something he should probably work on. I don’t want to judge how he copes, but it does seem a little problematic.
He’s wearing jeans and a hoodie still, but his hair is disheveled, and he’s missing his face mask. Hudson’s scent is going to be a problem, I fear. There’s a red mark on his cheek, and his eyes are wild but glossy. Based on his current appearance, I bet he fell asleep by accident, and when he woke up, he saw Hudson on me in the bed.
He’s for sure going to murder him if I don’t fix this.
“It’s okay,” I say gently, keeping my eyes on him as he watches the other Alpha like he’s a bomb that could explode at any second. “He didn’t hurt me, Apollo.”
He finally looks at me when he hears his name, his eyes trailing down my body in my silk nightgown. Just when I startto think he might reconsider his plan to rearrange Hudson’s organs, the fucker behind me speaks again.
“Who the fuck is Apollo?” Hudson repeats curiously, saying his name slowly. “Is this your jealous lover, or something?”
In an instant, my heart falls out of my chest and rolls across the floor as panic washes over me, lighting my veins on fire.Oh no.This is so fucking bad. I fucked up so badly.
Where’s Thor when you need him?
We’ve got a body to bury, big guy!
Hudson has now seen his face and heard his fucking name! I can’t let him tell Scott. He’ll descend on this hotel room like fucking SWAT doing a drug bust.
