My grip on the phone turns lethal as I debate what I’m about to do. I pull up Lev’s number and it rings for a while before he answers.

“Brat.” He says seriously.

“Call in two crews and call the pilot. Be ready to leave in thirty minutes.”

Like fuck am I letting something happen to my girl.

———————————————————

Lev, Ivan and Anton are in my car with me while the rest of our men are in two other cars parked around the perimeter of the hotel.

The plan is to just watch the girls, not let them know we are here and ensure they are safe.

I can’t shake the feeling that somethings going to happen, and I can’t explain it either. It’s different from feeling anxious, from feeling afraid or the ‘what if’ feeling. This is a deep inner knowing that I have learned to trust over the years in the Bratva.

“There’s that Tommy guy.” Ivan speaks and we all watch as Tommy steps out of a car that’s pulled up outside the hotel. He’s accompanied by someone else who gets out behind him and the first thing I spot is the mean looking head injury he has.

“Jesus, that cut looks nasty.” Lev says wincing.

“If these are the men hanging around your girls this weekend, any wonder you wanted to come here Dragna.” Anton says as Ivan smacks him around the back of the head. I’m two seconds away from killing Anton and dumping his body here in Boston.

“Shut the fuck upbrat. You’ll send them two into a fucking coma.”

Now Ivan’s been added to the body dumping list.

“Enough. Either shut the fuck up, or go join one of the other cars.” I tell them. Neither of them speak another word as we continue to watch Tommy head into the hotel and his beaten up friend stays outside, none the wiser to being watched as he lights up a cigarette and waves goodbye to whoever dropped them off as the car drives away.

Lev is quiet, too quiet, which never means anything good.

“I’ve seen him before.” He finally speaks, eyes narrowed and hands clenched into fists.

“What, where?” Ivan asks as he squints to get a better look at the guy.

“His picture, I’ve seen it.” His lip curls up and I see his chest begin to rise and fall faster and faster with each breath he takes.

“He took the fall for a deal going wrong and a big drug bust on the Irish.” He continues and a tense few seconds go by before he speaks again.

“He’s with the fucking Irish Dragna.” He growls as he grabs the door handle to jump out of the car and all of us quickly pull him away from it.

“Don’t you fucking dare. Emotions, fucking control them Lev. Tommy is up there with Willow and Alina right now, if you bulldoze your way over there who knows what the fuck will happen. We’ll watch, see what happens and where they go and we will take care of this quietly. We’ll bring the girls back with us tonight. This is where you prove to me you can control your fucking self.” I snarl at him and his breathing comes out in harsh pants before he closes his eyes and grunts, shoving us all off him.

I should have known. I should have fucking known. When Tommy was outside our club the night the girls picked Alina up, his accent, I knew he was Irish, why didn’t I suspect him? And now Willow is up there with him.

Blyat’!

“Fine. But if something happens to either of them because we didn’t just go up there and bring them back home with us right now, I’ll never fucking forgive you Dragna. You’ll be dead to me.” Lev looks me dead in the eyes as he speaks and I know he’s telling the truth. Nothing will happen though, not with us here to ensure the girls are safe and then we can convince them to leave with us later.

Mulling over a plan in my head, I keep watching the hotel when all of a sudden my body turns ice cold.

The Irish fucker with the head injury who is still waiting outside the hotel pushes off the wall and walks towards a car that’s just pulled up and stopped outside. All I can do is watch ashe opens up the passenger door and gets in. They drive off and there’s complete silence in the car.

All four of us watch the car drive away, nobody moving or even fucking breathing. All of us knowing a war is about to ensue, because the car, that fucking car, is one we all know well.

It’s the car that’s been following Willow.
