His eyes widened again before he growled,
“And how the fuck does a fleshy blood bag like you know that name?”
I narrowed my gaze at him before looking to Bo, who muttered,
“Fleshy blood bag… now, I like that better.”
“Keep this shit up, and your new nickname will become pickles,” I snapped, before looking back at the asshole that was still denying me access.
“What the fuck you say?!” he shouted, making me realize that I had done it again.
“I am not talking to you but the demon I summoned,” I said, flinging a hand to the side to indicate the new bane of my existence he couldn’t see.
“Why the fuck did you tell him that?” Bo complained, but I ignored him, leaving him to continue to hide flat against the wall.
“I don’t see a fucking thing,” the doorman said.
I put one hand behind my back, and then I told him in a sarcastic, slightly unhinged tone,
“Yeah, well, you can’t see what I am doing with my hand behind my back either, but that doesn’t mean I am not giving you the finger… now are you gonna let me in or what?”
He growled again.
“Wait here!” he replied with gritted teeth before slamming the door for a third time.
“There, that wasn’t so hard now, was it?”
“Oh nooo, piece of cake that,” Bo replied sarcastically, making this my day for rolling my eyes, scowling, and frowning. I swear, once upon a time, I used to smile before today. But then, when I woke up this morning, it had been with the positive mindset that today would be my day. The one where I nailed the presentation. The one where my boss finally realized I deserved a promotion. The one where I finally started to climb the career ladder I had worked so hard to be on.
But no.
My day had clearly not gone as planned.
But then the worst I had expected was to find out that at the end of my presentation, there was lettuce stuck in my teeth or even being tongue-tied at the crucial point. And any of these I would have taken over summoning a freaking demon and turning my safe mundane world upside down and then left and right.
And now here I was, standing outside a sorcerer’s nightclub, one that was likely not of this world, much like the little demon currently attached to my hip. Whoever this man was, I knew I wouldn’t be dealing with someone who drew pentagrams, lit candles, and burned sage. This was someone with real power, and hopefully, for my sake, enough of it to send Bo back where he belonged so I could get my life back on track and my foot firmly on that ladder.
Of course, that wasn’t all I hoped for.
Because from all I had heard about this guy, he was a dangerous man. But more than that…
He was a dangerous demon.
And now I was about to willingly step foot into the master’s den. This time, I was about to walk into someone else’s…
Oblivion.

DARK DOMAIN
The door opened, and I couldn’t help but yelp in surprise as, well, half of me thought that he might have just disappeared. However, the second I realized it wasn’t the same man as before, I automatically took a step back. This was because he was an even stranger character than the one before him. One that would have given Lurch from the Addams Family a run for his money.
Well, I guessed that just made me Wednesday then, as I straightened my spine, ready to introduce myself. However, the seven-foot giant, who looked as if he was in desperate need of a couple of cheeseburgers and a shit load of Vitamin D, simply stared down at me as if I were a stray dog begging for food. He was also wearing a pair of black sunglasses that were small and round, making him look like some crazy scientist, complete with a long white coat.
“Hello, is someone there?” he asked, looking over me, which wasn’t difficult, as he would look over most people. But that’s when I realized that he was, in fact, blind. I watched as he reached out with a walking stick, its silver shaft crowned by acoiled cobra, mouth open in a silent hiss, its head positioned exactly where his unnervingly long fingers wrapped around it.
He even took steps out the door as if this would help in discovering whether anyone was here. So instead of waiting for the other guy to come back and potentially deny me access, I quickly ducked around him and grabbed Bo’s collar, dragging him with me.
