Moments later, I stood outside her window, mask on, watching her sleep like I had so many times before. Only this time was different—I wasn’t about to watch her doze for hours, wondering what—or who—was in her dreams.

I was going to make sure I was so ingrained in her mind, she’d never be able to escape me—and never want to, even if she found out who I really was.

She’d closed her window to keep the cool breeze out, so I tapped my knuckles against the glass. When she didn’t stir, I knocked harder, my impatience already making my palms itch for her ass.

Her eyes shot open instantly, and she froze in fear when she found the masked man standing outside her window—me. Her mouth dropped open, and she clapped a hand over it, as though to keep her scream to herself.

I was prepared to run if she yelled and alerted our parents, so I watched her carefully to see what she’d do next—if she’d pass my test and reveal just how dark and depraved she really was.

We stayed that way for a while, her staring at me, her horrified expression slowly morphing into curiosity. It wasn’t long before she threw the covers off her and sat up, hesitating a little when her feet hit the floor. Then, confidence straightened her shoulders as she stood and walked over to me like I knew shewould. Her hair fell just below her shoulders, shorter pieces framing her face, making her look innocent, though her tiny shorts and tank top revealed every curve I had the pleasure of enjoying—and planned to enjoy again.

But we both knew the truth.

Her hands shook when she reached out to unlock the window. She pushed it open just a hair.

“Michael?” she asked sleepily, like she might’ve still been dreaming.

I nodded slowly instead of answering her and grabbed the window to open it wider, removing the false sense of safety.

She looked behind her at the door then back at me, swallowing and crossing her arms protectively over her chest. Caution filled her eyes as she looked me up and down.

“What’re you doing here? You aren’t supposed to know where I live. Why do you know where I live? Iwillcall the cops if you try anything crazy.” Her eyes narrowed, and she stood a little taller. While it was cute watching her try to be intimidating, she was still shaking like a damn leaf.

I let the amusement bubble in my chest until I was chuckling low. Avery’s face fell.

“Want to play a game,Avery?” I asked, making my voice raspier to mask it. “That hour in the maze was not nearly enough for me to get my fill of you.” She inhaled sharply, and her arms fell to her sides. “I want to hunt you down, hear the panic in your breathas you try to get away from me. It's only a matter of time before I catch you, drag you to the floor, and fuck you like the dirty little slut you are. No matter how fast you move, how far you get, I will find you and claim you, again and again, until I decide I’m done with you. When I’m finished with you, you won’t be able to walk away.” I put my hands on the windowsill. “You’ll feel me for days, kitten. Every time you move, you’ll be reminded of who you belong to, who that cunt belongs to, and you’ll beg me for more.”

She let out a little squeak of fear when I leaned inside.

“Michael,” she whispered loudly, putting her hands up to shield herself as I crawled into her window. “You can’t be here! You have to leave right now.” I continued my path toward her until she backed into her door, freezing when she realized she had nowhere else to go. “Please, Michael,” she begged as I stopped an inch from her face, studying her eyes, loving the way her body betrayed her.

She probably didn’t even notice the way she pushed her hips forward.

It was hard as fuck not to shove her against the door and press up against her until her plush curves melded with my toned muscles. No. I needed her to show me she wanted this, how naughty she could be for me.

Just as I was about to speak, a knock sounded at her door. “Avery?” Her mom. “Honey, can we talk?”

Avery’s eyes were still glued to mine, wide and full of fear.

I shook my head slowly, and she gulped before parting her lips and responding, “Not right now. I just need some space.”

Marissa sighed, defeated. “Okay. Just… I love you.”

“Love you too, Mom.”

Neither of us moved as the footsteps faded down the hallway. When our parents’ bedroom door closed, Avery let out a breath.

“Either you run for me,” I started my threat, low and dark, “or I letMommyknow what her little girl’s been up to.”

Her face hardened. “You wouldn’t.”

I reached for the doorknob, but she grabbed my arm.

“Please, don’t.”

“Then fucking run. Crawl out that damn window and try your best to get away from me. Pretend like you can for a second then fight me when I get my hands on you. Make it fun for me. Make me work for that tight cunt just like you did a week ago.” Her breathing was audible as she stepped to the window, her gaze still on me.

“Go on,” I encouraged her. “I’ll give you another head start. Sixty seconds, just like last time.” She was nearly to the window, looking like a frightened animal staring down a dangerous predator. “Run, Avery. To the woods,” I warned. “If you run toward the road, I swear to God, I will fuck every hole of yours until your body goes limp, and then I’ll keep using you while you lie there like a doll.”
