“Really? You wouldn’t let me?” I rolled my eyes.
“Yeah, I would’ve done this.” Bram threw me over his shoulder like a savage.
Chris creeped back into the water. Security dived in after him.
“Come,” Bram said, walking us away from the scene.
As the blood rushed to my head, I smiled.
I knew exactly what he meant.
As he carried me away from the chaos, Bram repositioned me in his arms. He leaned down and whispered, “We can’t stay long.”
I blinked up at him, confused, until he added, “I remember now. I wasn’t just lost. There was no plane crash. I was running. And someone here still wants me dead.”
“Here, as in at this wedding venue?”
“Yes, I think my fiancée tried to have me killed.”
