Down. Down.
Down…
“Oh,” Aiko murmured in awe as we stared through a glass partition. “That is a dick complex right there.”
“I would have to agree.” I chortled, a full belly laugh rising. “Your face is priceless right now.”
He waved a hand absently in my direction, his eyes zoned on the missile. “Hush now. I’m staring at the largest cock I’ve ever seen. Let me enjoy it for a moment.”
Dorian smacked the back of his head.
Aiko’s forehead bounced off the glass, his scowl instant. He rubbed at his abused flesh. “I thought you had called a truce for now?”
“That was for stupidity.” Dorian sneered.
Aiko’s scowl only intensified.
I casually slid between them. “Let’s not fight, gentlemen. And I use that term loosely. But there is a missile we can amuse ourselves with—”
I stalled when a heartbeat was unexpectedly heard behind us, a door shutting with it. I swiveled as the unmistakable sound of a trigger clicked and dodged to the side as bullets flew—the human not dying instantly, as had been occurring ceaselessly.
Aiko shoved Dorian to the ground and covered him with his body while glass rained down on them, the barrier shattering from the frenzy of bullets.
My soul mate moved so fast I couldn’t track him, there one moment, gone the next. He ripped the gun from the soldier’s hands and sank his dangerous fangs into the flesh of the human’s vulnerable neck.
Hmm. Guess the bastard hadn’t been targeting for a kill shot?
Either way, his dead body still hit the ground.
King Belshazzar wiped his mouth off with the back of his hand, a slow grin spreading over his brutal features. “Heknew something.”
Dorian shoved his savior off him and rose to his feet.
Aiko grumbled his breath but slowly got his feet under him. “You have heard of sayingthank you, haven’t you? I did save your life.”
Bel’s twin glared…but grudgingly stated, “Thank you.”
My brows rose high on my forehead in surprise.
I kept any smartass comments at bay, though.
They were staring at one another with less hostility than before, and I wasn’t about to wreck that. I certainly didn’t want to keep saving Aiko’s life while he was under my care.
I looked at my soul mate instead. “What have you learned?”
“The location we’ve been looking for.” Bel’s smirk was triumphant. “You won’t believe where that base is. Such a boring cliché.”
“Where?” I leaned forward with anticipation.
“Area 51.” He winked.
I doubled over and couldn’t contain my peals of laughter.
King Belshazzar chuckled with me but pulled out a phone my father had gifted him. “I’ll let the others know so that they can concentrate the troops in the USA.” He strode through the door that the soldier had come from, making his call to Lord Cato and Lord Xenon.
“Why is that location so funny?” Aiko tilted his head.
I wiped the tears of laughter off my cheeks, still snorting through it. “Aliens.”
