I held in my pissed off groan when he relaxed further, sliding down his chair and widening his legs. His foul private anatomy was now about two inches from my nose. I did not want to see the outline of his hulking cock inside his worn leather pants, but there it was staring right back at me.

King Athon rumbled, “All right, what is so important that you are shitting on my night?”

“The Fae,” King Traevon said irritably. “There has been not just one sighting, but now two in my kingdom in the past few days. And, each time, they have attacked my people.”

“That isdisturbing.” King Athon’s posture didn’t change. “I had one sighting yesterday in my kingdom. Though, they did not attack. My people said they appeared to be searching for something in the forest.”

I glared at his dick. He hadn’t told me that.

But…to be fair, I hadn’t told him about the Fae, either.

I’d been planning to. I just hadn’t gotten there yet.

“Were they hunting for food?” King Traevon snorted. “Both attacks in my kingdom have been over food.”

“Truly?”

“Yes. Why these Fae are breaking their own laws to cross into our realm, I haven’t the foggiest. But they are completely ill-prepared for their travels.”

King Athon sat back further in his chair and crossed his arms over his bare, muscled chest. “Do you suppose they are runaways?”

King Traevon was silent for an extended moment. “That is a possibility. It would make sense given their actions.”

I placed a fist in front of my mouth and yawned, accidentally brushing against my Fae damned soul mate’s dick. I swiftly jerked my hand back down. His muscular thighs flinched on either side of my head. I peeked up at his face. His jaw was clenched in irritation.

I sighed. I couldn’t help that his cock was too big.

The shifter king cleared his throat. “We need to schedule another royal summit to discuss this with the other rulers. If it’s happening in our kingdoms, it’s more than likely occurring in theirs, too—or will be soon. We need to get a handle on this before—”

A click tickled my ears, sounding like the door opening.

“My apologies again, Your Royal Highness.” The same guard’s voice interrupted their meeting. “But King Elon and Queen Alora are also here wishing to see you.”

King Traevon added, “I may have sent the other rulers missives today, letting them know where I was headed tonight. I didn’t think the situation could wait.”

Oh my Fae. I would be stuck under this desk forever.

My shoulders sagged in resignation.

With this turn of events, I didn’t give a Fae fuck when I rested the side of my head against King Athon’s inner left leg. I closed my eyes and tried to relax as much as possible on the stone floor; it was dreadfully uncomfortable. Thank the Fae Bishop had fed me earlier, or I would have beenreallybad-tempered right now.

King Athon grunted. “Let them in. And when Queen Mikko arrives, allow her entry, too.”

After a moment, the door clicked shut.

Queen Alora’s high screeching voice—made for the ocean—sliced at my ears. “Do challenges normally last that long? We had to wait forever for the crowds to disperse to get here. This is later than I’d planned for.”

“They normally aren’t,” King Elon answered, his hissing tone slithering like a serpent in the air. “This one was abnormally long. Why was that, King Athon? Did you meet a challenger you had to work to beat?”

I snorted silently, my head jerking on the shifter king’s leg.

King Athon’s huge hand instantly landed on top of my head, keeping me still. My damned soul mate left it there, too. He stated evasively, “There may have been more than one challenger tonight. It took more time.”

“Shall we wait for Queen Mikko to arrive before we discuss the actual issue of why we are here?” King Traevon asked respectfully.

“I think that would be best,” King Athon replied.

The four rulers went mute. It wasn’t surprising.
