“No. I sent her to Dec’s house. Her brother Duncan is there. And I needed to deal with this shit first.”

“So you haven’t talked to her?”

I shook my head.

“Are you going to?”

I looked up at him. “That depends on you. I can wait, and we can talk to her together. But I have to pick up Grace. She’s over there too.”

“Why? I thought Grace was at the house with the others?”

“She was until her fucking father showed up. It’s been a hell of a night, brother. I’ve got parents and siblings coming out of the fucking woodwork.”

“Siblings?” he growled.

I blew out a breath. “I’m gonna need you to sit on his lap, Karlyn.”

“What?” She looked at me like I’d just asked her to sit on mine.

“Jackson, I need you to promise to control your shit.”

“Depends on what you’re about to fucking tell me.”

“Do you remember a brother named Shamrock?”

Jackson cocked his head to the side and stared at me. “Reaper killed him. He was passing messages to Reaper’s mother when all that shit went down.”

“Did you ever meet him?”

“Once I think. Remi was real close to him. I think that’s why Reaper took his betrayal so hard. Why?”

“He was our brother.”

“Fuck!”

“And he has a twin. Hemlock. He’s downstairs.”

Jackson and I stared at each other. Neither of us knew what to say, how to deal with this shit.

“Who’s his father?”

“I think it might be Snoopy. As soon as she walked in the door, he knew who she was. Well, he knew her as Bridgit.”

“How many fucking names did she have?”

I didn’t have an answer for him. I hadn’t talked to the woman and honestly, I wasn’t sure I wanted to. I had a mother for ten years. A woman who loved me. Who’d given up everything forme and never once gave me any reason to question her. Even after I learned the truth.

Jackson never had that. Sure, he had his aunt Roxy, Sypher’s mother. But it wasn’t quite the same, and we both knew it.

“What are you going to do?” he asked.

“Damned if I know,” I answered honestly. I had a feeling when Sal left, he’d gone to Dec’s house to confront the woman. “I thought about sending Jingles over to get Grace and sneaking her up through the back. So we could both avoid dealing with our missing parents.”

“Who is Grace’s father?”

“Popeye.”

“Jesus fuck.”
