“How?”
“Jesus Christ!”
I held my hand in the air and waited for them to settle down. “Someone tipped him off. As soon as Zombie stepped into the clubhouse, he got a text on Steele’s phone that said‘traitor.’”
“Freeway?” Gunner asked.
“He’s been locked up since I called Steele. There is no way he could’ve contacted him.”
“That means one of us,” Jack hissed.
“Maybe not. I talked to Ravage. He pointed out that someone had to tip off the Death Dogs that Grace and Karlyn were in town.”
“That means one of the Gods of Mayhem,” Jingles growled.
“Most likely, yes. But we don’t know who.”
“I don’t think it was Zeus, and I know it wasn’t Eros. He wouldn’t do that to Ravage,” Nav stated confidently.
“I agree,” I said. “After we’re done here, I want to call them both in and tell them what’s going on.”
My brothers nodded, and I leaned forward, my arms on the table. I zeroed in on Sypher and Nav, who sat side by side with their computers. I cleared my throat, and they both snapped their heads up in sync.
“Something you two forget to tell me and Ravage?”
They turned to look at each other, then back at me before they both looked down.
“It’s fucking creepy when they do that shit,” Jack grumbled.
“How did you find out?” Nav asked.
“Grace asked me if I’d seen it.” I closed my eyes. “Who saw it?”
“Me, Sypher, and Kytten,” Nav confessed.
My eyes snapped open, and I glared at Cash.
“She insisted. I agreed because Grace is going to need someone to talk to. Someone who understands the shit running around in her head. Kytten has been working with abused women for years.”
“Where is the video?”
“Scrubbed,” Sypher said. “No one else will ever see it.”
“Thank you.”
“How is she? Really?” Jingles asked.
“I don’t fucking know. My heart breaks every time I look at her. She’s not the same. She’s still there. But Grace is buried under what happened, and I don’t know how to pull her out.”
“You can’t,” Colt said. I looked over at him. His voice said he knew more than we realized. “When Haizley started working with Aspen, she had Amber sit in. Amber shared her story, and Aspen said it helped. Grace needs to talk to someone who has been through something similar.”
“I can ask Reaper to bring Remi here,” Sypher offered.
“She needs to talk to Karlyn,” Colt suggested. “She’s already here. They were taken together. No one knows more about what Grace went through than Karlyn.”
I knew he was right, but I wasn’t sure it would help. It would put Karlyn in an awkward position if she wasn’t up to it. I couldn’t ask her to take on Grace’s fears, especially when she was still dealing with her own.
Cash saved me when he changed the subject and asked, “What did James Doherty want?”
