The irony wasn’t lost on him. Of the two of them, Kylie was infinitely more responsible. Other than when she was in Little space, she never got in trouble, never missed an assignment.

But Addison had, in a way, put him in charge by telling him that she expected him to be a good influence. So didn’t that mean it was up to him to put a stop to this before they broke the one rule she’d given them for the night?

“Ky… we should stop.”

“Please, Danny.” Desperation filled Kylie’s words, and when she opened her eyes, he saw the need, thehungerburning in the brown depths. “If you stop now, I’lldie.”

“You won’t die. But we might if Mommy finds out we disobeyed her less than five minutes after she left us to our own devices.”

Groaning, Kylie closed her eyes, her head falling back against the wall. “Since when are you the reasonable one?”

He couldn’t help but chuckle as he leaned in to nip at her full bottom lip. “Apparently since you decided you wanted Addison to be our Mommy. You haven’t been thinking right since.”

“You’re right,” Kylie said with a sigh. “Everything about her just gets me all jumbled up inside.”

“Which is why I’m going to stop this before we get carried away, even though it feels like it’s going to kill me not to fuck you right up against this wall.”

Peeking up at him, she grinned. “Really?”

“Really.” With another low groan, he pulled his hand free of her pussy, forced himself to step back. “We should get you ready for bed and then I’ll head back to my dorm.”

“Oh…” For the first time in his memory, Kylie looked unsure of herself. “Um, I was hoping you might spend the night with me? Even if we don’t do anything, I just, I don’t really want to be alone.”

It wasn’t technically against the rules, though they’d both always been careful to go their separate ways before lights out. And the thought of leaving her was an ache in his chest, one he knew wouldn’t be soothed until he saw her again.

“All right. I’ll stay. But no funny business. I mean it, Kylie Anne.”

Her smile flashed, and when his heart contracted in his chest, he wondered how it had taken him so long to realize he was head over heels in love with his best friend.

“Yes, Sir.” Grabbing his hand, she dragged him toward her dresser. “Pajamas, and then you’re going to teach me to make that healing potion you promised.”

“It’s a date.”

Chapter Eleven

Kylie

She woke with an iron band wrapped around her waist and an ache in her back. Wincing, she rolled over, her mind struggling to piece together why she was on such a hard surface instead of her nice comfy bed.

And when she finally managed to pry her eyes open, her heart leapt at the sight that greeted her. Danny, herDanny, with his sandy brown hair falling haphazardly over one eye as he slumbered beside her.

That’s right. They’d realized pretty quickly that her bed was far too small for both of them, so they’d made a nest for themselves on the floor instead. Which she didn’t regret for a moment, even if the ache in her back and shoulders was screaming at her to never do it again.

As if he could sense her watching him, Danny’s eyes fluttered open, his dark eyes still cloudy with sleep even as his lips curved upward. “Mmm. Morning, Ky.”

“Morning.” Ducking her head beneath his chin, she snuggled deeper into his embrace. “Sleep okay?”

“Like a rock. You?”

“Same. Kinda sore from sleeping on this hard floor but it was worth it.”

A deep laugh rumbled in his chest. “Can’t argue with you there. What time is it?”

“No idea. Don’t care.”

His large hand drifted down her body to cup her ass, squeezing tightly and pulling her up against the hard length of him. “You’re going to care if Mommy gets here and finds us still in bed.”

True. Addison had been very clear the night before that she expected them both dressed and ready to go when she arrived.
