Wait. She usually only got in trouble when she wasLittle. And that was how Professor Renard found her that day when she’d spanked them.

“Oh my god, Danny. We’re so stupid!”

The hands on her butt stopped their rubbing. “Excuse me?”

Ignoring the hint of steel in his tone, she scrambled to sit up, excitement pumping through her veins. “Okay, so, you know how in science you can’t just run an experiment once and call it a success, right? You have to be able to duplicate the results.”

His eyes went blank for a moment. Science and math were two of his least favorite classes. “Uh… sure.”

“Just trust me on this. The problem we’re having is that we changed too many of the variables. Instead of being caught fighting, we’ve been trying other naughty behaviors. Instead of being in our dorm, we’re in class. And instead of being Little…”

“We’ve been college students.” Now he was following her, and she could see the wheels turning in his mind. “So what variables do we change back? All of them?”

“No.” Shaking her head, Kylie rose to her feet and started pacing. Or tried to, anyway, before she realized her panties were still tangled around her thighs. Shimmying them off with an impatient huff, she kicked them aside and resumed pacing. “We can’t just wait around for her to show up at the dorms. And fighting in class is too risky. She’s more likely to get Master Derek involved and from everything I’ve heard from other students, we donotwant that to happen.”

“Which leaves us with showing up to class as Littles.”

“Right.” Nodding, she swallowed hard against the nausea bubbling in her stomach. “It’s really the only variable we can control.”

“But you’re not ready for everyone to know you’re a Little. You always said you wanted to wait until after we graduate.”

“I know.” She wasn’tembarrassedby her Little side, not really. It was just that her Little was so very different from her Big persona. Wilder, naughtier, more carefree. She couldn’t afford to indulge that side of her outside of a few very carefully controlled settings if she wanted to graduate with honors the way she’d planned. “But if Professor Renard is secretly a Mommy looking for her Littles, then what choice do we have?”

“Talking to her is still on the table, you know.”

“How many times do I have to tell you, that’s not how romanceworks.” Annoyed, she turned and planted her fists on her hips, pinning him with a glare. “I’ve read nearly every single book in the romance section of this library and nobody ever justtalks about their feelings. It’s always grand gestures and secret schemes to win over the love of your life.”

“Has it ever occurred to you that those books aren’t exactly… realistic?”

“I know they’re not realistic, Daniel. It’s not like some alien Daddy is going to come whisk me away to his home planet to be his babygirl or I’m going to find myself kidnapped by a billionaire and taken to his kinky age-play island.”

Danny’s eyes went round, then narrowed with suspicion. “What kind of books are youreading?”

Heat blossomed in her cheeks. “Never mind. My point is, they may not be realistic, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t right about some things.”

“Like trying to trick someone into falling in love with us?”

“It’s not tricking her, really. It’s showing her that we can be who she wants us to be.”

Danny sighed. “You know, normally you are the most logical person I know. Something about Professor Renard has your brain all twisted up.”

“Maybe.” Her cheeks grew even hotter. “I feel twisted up around her.”

“Me too.”

“Really?”

“Of course. You’ve seen her.”

“I have.” For the first time since they’d set out on this path, uncertainty began to creep in. “I’m nothing like her.”

“You’re not.” Hunger flashed in his eyes as he pushed to his feet, his arms coming around her. “You’re completely different. And just as beautiful.”

Then his lips were on hers, hot and demanding, and any resistance she thought she had crumbled in an instant. Hands roamed, touching and teasing and exploring, tightening the coil of need in her belly.

When they pulled apart, their breaths were coming in ragged gasps as they stared at each other.

“Whoa,” she whispered.
