In a simple black bathing suit, her curves were fully on display. It felt even more revealing than the fucking nightie she’d worn to the club. The way it cut down to her stomach left so much cleavage out for my eyes to feast on, it had me struggling to contain my dick. The necklace sat perfectly against the base of her throat, too, showing off the fact that she was ours.

“Good to see that I’m not the only asshole not working today.” Dom sat down next to me and stared out at Sutton. “Jesus.”

I grunted.

“Yep.”

It only took Ollie a few seconds to notice his dad. He squealed and hurried out of the pool to run over. Sutton called to him to stop running but he didn’t stop until he was plastered against Dom’s chest. That started a chain reaction and Lee struggled to get away from Sutton to run at me but Sutton wasn’t letting her go. Instead, she climbed out of the pool with Lee flailing and carried her over.

“I know it’s probably fine, but seeing kids running around the pool always gives me horror movie vibes.” She plopped Lee down in my lap and grinned. “Nice pool attire.”

Dom and I were both fully clothed in our typical outfits. I was in jeans and a black t-shirt and he was dressed in a suit. Both were officially soaked.

Charlie grabbed Sutton’s hand and pulled her back towards the pool.

“They can keep the babies and you can take me to the deeper end!”

Lee entertained herself by tugging at my beard and shouting at me about her day. Ollie stood up and then jumped so he landed in Dom’s lap, hard. I winced for Dom as he croaked and leaned forward, his face bright red.

Sutton groaned and gently picked Ollie up, much to Charlie’s displeasure.

“Alrighty, I think it’s time for us to have our picnic anyway. How about we go to the playground and play while we dry off and then we can eat the magical sandwiches I made for us.”

Charlie changed gears immediately.

“Why are they magical?”

I found myself smiling as Sutton leaned over to loudly whisper to the kids.

“They’re magical because I leave the ingredients on the counter and close my eyes and when I open them the sandwiches are made! I think a fairy must sneak in to help me. And you know what happens when you eat a fairy sandwich?”

Ollie’s eyes were almost as wide as Sutton’s as he stared at her.

“What?”

“They get annoyed that you ate their sandwich!” She grabbed the kids and they all squealed and laughed before chasing after Sutton when she ran toward the playground.

I grunted. “I think we got ditched.”

Dom still looked a little green. “Fuck.”

“We have the Oleander meeting tonight. Unless you want to cancel it to take our Kitten out.”

He scowled.

“We can’t cancel. We need to wrap up our business with that family and clean our hands. Now, more than ever, I’m confident in our decision to step back.”

I stared out at the property beyond the pool and nodded.

“Whatever you decide. I’ve got your back.”

“I know you do. Theo, too.” He slowly twisted around so he was facing me while sitting up.

“This is what’s best for all of us. Theo said Sutton was asking about why she can’t take the kids to the park. We can only keep them all hidden away here for so long if we stay in the business.”

“And you think we’ll be able to loosen our security because we leave the business?” I reached up to scratch my beard and frowned. “We’ve needed to figure this shit out for years, Dom. Now I’m just worried there’s no clean way out.”

He stood up and stared in the direction the kids and Sutton had gone.
