His eyes held hers. They were dark with need, and he seemed to will her to focus on him as his hands settled on her hips.
“Lower down now, Iris.”
He guided her, and soon she felt him at her entrance, and then he was sliding inside her. He was so large and thick, stretching her.
“Are you all right?” His words were strained as he fought for control.
“Yes,” she whispered.
“Take me into your body.”
She lowered the last few inches until he was deep inside her.
“So good.” Theo shuddered.
“Yes,” she agreed. And it was the truth. Theo was inside her, and she felt no fear. It was so different from her husband. He touched her in reverence. Touched her as if she was the most precious thing he’d ever held.
“Ride me, Iris,” he gritted out.
She rose on her knees and lowered again, and the clench and release of her inner muscles caused the wonderful tension she’d already experienced once tonight to return.
“More,” he whispered. “I need more of you, Iris.”
She rose again and again. His hands roamed her body as she took him inside her over and over. His breathing was hoarse. Her moans grew louder and louder.
“Let go, my sweet. I will catch you.”
“As I will catch you!” She cried the words as she felt her release hit her again. He thrust into her once more and shuddered out a loud groan. His arms banded around her, holding her to him as he found his own release.
Breathless, she slumped into him. Her cheek was on his chest listening to the thud of his heart. Her body felt lax, and she simply wanted to lie on the mattress and sleep.
When he stirred, his lips pressed a kiss to her shoulder.
“I must go now.”
“Yes, of course.” Iris climbed off him. She sat on her bed, knees raised, and watched as he dressed. Every inch of the man was perfection. Long, muscled legs, broad chest and shoulders. “Thank you, Theo.”
He paused in pulling on his boots.
“Don’t thank me. What we shared was mutual.” His words were cooler now, and Iris could almost see him withdrawing from her.
“Of course.” Iris felt herself doing the same. Both were so used to protecting themselves from emotion and pain. “Thank you again for coming to rescue me as well.”
“Don’t leave the house again if you receive a note but come to me or send word. Jimmy or another will be outside. There is much I must do now to find who is behind all of this.”
“I could help.”
“Absolutely not. You will stay here and wait until I tell you that the threat is gone. We will decide how best to proceed.”
“We?” Iris asked.
He ignored her. “If handing over the documents will keep you safe, then that is what we will do.”
“I am not staying inside my house. I will be a prisoner no more, Theo.” The words came out with more force than required and had him moving to stand before her.
“I did not say you were to be a prisoner.”
“He made me one. I will allow no man to do so again,” she said, feeling at a distinct disadvantage. He was dressed and towering over her now.
