“Alice and Nicholas have this ability, and I am still in awe,” Gus said. The marquis smiled.
“I come in exceptionally handy when tallying the books and playing cards.”
The others started to arrive. Warwick was last.
Warwick has the gift of hearing.
“We can hear a great distance, but wear earplugs due to the fact we get headaches if surrounded by too much noise,” Warwick said.
“Wolf approaches,” Dev said.
“You saw his color?” Ash asked, curious.
“Yes. We all have them.”
“What color is Ash?” Warwick asked.
Dev turned, and his eyes flashed green, and then he sighed. “Silver.”
Warwick smiled, as did Gus.
“What?” Ash asked his brother. But he did not reply.
Eden slipped in to inform the men she would be listening to every word and may even join them when the hell child was settled.
“The women in this family.” James sighed.
They were all soon seated in various positions about the room. Brandy was handed out and sipped, and Ash waited for the questions to start.
They were forestalled by a knock on the door.
“Enter, Buttles,” James said.
“Mr. Dillinger and Mr. Daniel Dillinger,” the butler said, opening the door.
Ash watched the biggest man he’d ever seen enter the room, which was saying something when Max and Rory were present. Big, dark, he had huge hands and boots that were at least half a length longer than Ash’s. The man with him had the same coloring but his size was not as vast.
“Well now, this is handy,” Cambridge said. “These two will be able to help with this, Ash.”
Hands were shaken, and then he was introduced.
“Ash, this is Ace Dillinger and his brother, Daniel,” James said. “Ash is Gus’s brother.”
Ash bowed. The men did the same.
“Another Raven,” Ace said.
“We are growing.” James smiled.
“Sorry for the intrusion, but if we waited for you to be alone, it would be a long wait with all your family,” Daniel Dillinger said. “I have those papers for you to sign.”
“Of course.” James took the papers and put them on his desk.
“We need your help, Dillingers,” Max said. “We are after a man called Radcliffe,” Max said.
“What is the name of his ship, Ash?” Harry asked.
“TheVictory,” Ash said.
