It doesn’t really seem as if I’ll have any need for more than a pair of joggers.
“Hurts,” she gasps, turning off the vibration on the toy still inserted in Izzy.
“What?” he asks, sitting up to hold Silva while they’re still connected.
“Is it possible that you triggered her heat?” I ask. “Baby, when are you due?”
“A few weeks yet,” she says, her head dropping on Izzy’s shoulder.
“You didn’t say,” he whispers, his gaze tortured and worried.
“I wasn’t thinking,” she says, waving his words away. “Syrus.”
“I’m on my way,” I promise. “Ground rules?”
“No alpha bites,” she says immediately. “I’m not ready yet. Izzy was one thing…”
“I know,” I grunt. I get it, I do. We both felt pulled to Izzy. “Okay, where are you right now?”
“My nest,” she says.
Glancing at the phone, I can see that it’s not Izzy’s cum gushing out of her, but also slick.
She’s going to rage hot and fast. I can already tell.
“Lock yourself in. The guys will leave you alone until I get there, baby. How have they been since I’ve been gone?”
“Respectful,” Silva says, her voice cracking. “Kyren is back, Izzy and I both managed to eat something, and then we were messing around in my nest when you called.”
“I’m ten minutes out,” I grunt. “I already told work that I’m taking some personal days, and Iris told me you have as well. Apparently it’s already hit the community board.”
“Mmm. We have our own alibi now,” she teases. Her face tenses into a mask of pain, and Izzy kisses her neck.
“We’re going to go shower,” he decides. “Then, we’re going to make sure the nest is exactly the way we both want. Alright, mami?”
“Yeah.”
“Ten minutes, Spitfire. Repeat it,” I say, taking a left to cut through side streets up to her house.
“Ten. Argh!” she screams.
“Good enough. Love you, baby.”
Disconnecting the call so I won’t drive into a snow drift, I force myself to breathe as I make my way through the streets. They’re busy for it being six in the evening, and I’m ready to scream by the time I’m pulling up to her house.
“Don’t bring your bullshit into that house,” I lecture myself. “Fucking rein it in.”
Taking a few calming breaths, I grab my things and get out of the vehicle. Walking up the pathway to the porch, my eyes flick to Lexi’s porch where she’s watching me.
“Don’t expect any calls from Silva for a few days,” I grind out, my jaw working as I force myself to stomp up the stairs slowly.
“Why?” she asks. “There are more cars than normal in front of her house.”
Glancing at the very large male boot near the door, I look back at her dispassionately. Her cheeks heat as she realizes what I’m talking about.
Emmett’s truck is also in front of the house, so I’m not sure why she’s so upset.
“She’s in heat, Lexi. I have to go check on her,” I say.
