Savoring turned to devouring.

And Rosie was right there for it.

My cock wasn’t just hard, it throbbed. So damn stiff I could pound nails with it. Rosie clung tighter. Pressing her sweet body against mine even closer, so close I doubted a breeze could sweep between us. All I could think about was feeling her skin to skin. Sweat-soaked skin against overheat flesh in a tangle of limbs.

Thunder clattered through the sky, and we both jumped, breaking the magnificent kiss. The sound snapped us out of the momentary lusty haze we’d found ourselves in.

“Wow,” she panted. My cock twitched behind the zipper of my jeans at the breathless tone in her voice. “That was…” She pressed her lips together. “I mean, for a first kiss, it was pretty good.”

“Perfect.” I swallowed hard, stroking the side of her face. I couldn’t get myself to back off or stop touching her.Jesus, what is my problem?I’d just met the woman! I wasn’t this guy!

“Yeah.” She smiled. More thunder cracked, this time along with lightning illuminating the sky.

“Shit, baby, we should get somewhere safe.” I took my hand off her face but brought her to my side. “The lake’s not the best place to hang around if we’re going to get a lightning storm.”

“Afraid of the sparks?” Her eyes shone as brightly and wildly as her hair.

“Not of this.” I pulled her in and was unable to stop myself from kissing her again.

“Right.” She looked around, and something flashed in those pretty, green eyes of hers. “I have an idea. Come on.” She took my hand and walked ahead of me in the opposite direction of the resort, where my hotel room was.

“Shit,” I cursed under my breath. “Rosie, we should head into the resort. We could go to my room.” She glanced back at me with a naughty little gleam in her eye, one I wanted to see time and time again. When she was beneath me. On top of me. In front of me or bent over my knee as I turned her creamy ass the prettiest shade of red.

Bent over my knee?

Spanking?

I wasn’t sure what it was about this woman that brought out a side of me that had lain dormant until we’d bumped into one another, but I wanted to keep her. I wanted to protect her. Love her. Fuck her down and dirty and then soft and sweet. Forever.

Forever? What the hell?

“Your hotel room, huh, Mr. Walker?” My cock twitched at her calling me that. My mind swirled with all the other dirty things she could call me.

One thing in particular.

Something I’d never thought I would want, especially after becoming a parent. My face felt hot as the sexy, gorgeous woman in front of me laughed. Rosie reminded me of everything good in the world. Of endless possibilities.Mine.My heart thundered, and my mind nodded in agreement. Rosie was mine.

“I didn’t mean it that way,” I rasped, tugging on her hand while the rain seemed to fall harder. She stopped and closed the arm’s length space between us.

“That’s a shame,” she whispered, and even though I knew better, what with the weather being what it was, I wrapped cupped the back of her head and kissed her with an urgency and hunger I felt from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

“Daddy.” The word softly slipped past my lips the moment he pulled back slightly. Embarrassment was just about to flood through me when Caleb made a sound. It was dark and almost animalistic, and I clung tighter to him. I wanted him more than I wanted to breathe.Maybe he didn’t hear?I had no idea why I’d accidentally called him the slightly taboo nickname I enjoyed reading about.

Caleb pulled me back in and kissed me harder. Time stopped at that moment. The two of us ignored everything but one another. Rain didn’t matter. The dropping temperatures didn’t affect us. He pulled me in and picked me up, and my legs naturally wrapped around his waist before I felt the rough bark of a tree trunk behind me.

Kissing him was incredible.

His tongue swiped my lower lip before our teeth scraped. Tongues dueled as I clung to the man who somehow got under my skin despite me not even knowing his favorite color or food.

The sky cracked again with thunder before it lit up with lighting. Caleb made my world spin on its axis so much I forgot that even though I loved the rain, I hated thunder and lightning. It terrified me and usually kept me up all night. Lightning struck again, this time way too close for comfort.

“You’re shivering,” he noted roughly. “It’s too cold for you, baby girl. I gotta get you somewhere safe.” When his thumb brushed my face, skimming close to my lip, something came over me. I leaned into the tip and pulled it between my lips and sucked. His nose flared, and his gaze heated darkly.

“Fuck,” he growled. I opened my mouth and let his thumb slip from between my lips. His thumb held my chin. “You’re poking a bear, beautiful.” I bit down on my bottom lip. Countless people had called me beautiful, but hearing Caleb call me that, I felt it. Before I could say anything, thunder struck again. He looked up at the sky. His brows bunched with concern.

“We need to find shelter before we get zapped. We have enough sparks between us as it is.”
