“I’m going to go call and reschedule my clients,” I tell him.
In the bedroom, I grab my phone, but I hit Alexi’s number before I call my clients.
“Hey!”she greets.
I smile.“You sound so much better!”
Alexi laughs.“I feel better.That medicine you got me seems to have worked.”
“That’s great!I guess I can cancel that doctor’s appointment.”
She huffs.“Ugh, yes, please do.”
“I was calling to check in and see if you needed anything.Ledger and I are spending the day together and could stop by if you need me to grab you something.”
“Nah, I’m good.How’s your man?”
I can picture her grinning and wiggling her eyebrows.“He’s good.He’s in the shower right now.”
“And you’re talking to me!?”she shouts.
“I already took a shower… and I got to see him up close last night,” I say with a giggle.
“Daisy!Oh, my gosh!I need all the details!”
“I know.I’ll catch you up later, okay?”
“Tease.”
“Later!”
“Fine.Cancel the doctor’s appointment.”
“Will do.Talk to you later.”
“Love you, bye!”
“Love you, bye,” I reply.
We hang up, and I click on the email link to cancel the doctor’s appointment before calling my clients to reschedule them for the following day.Luckily for me, both of them are understanding and cool with changing dates.
“What are we going to do?”Ledger asks, entering the bedroom with a towel wrapped low around his waist.
My mouth waters at the sight, and I swallow hard.
“We could go for a hike?Or I could show you my favorite places in town,” I suggest.
“Yeah, we can do both,” he says, prowling closer.“There’s just something I need to do first,” he adds, his voice low and husky.
“What’s that?”I whisper.
He doesn’t answer.Instead, he kisses me, his hands cradling my face.
I moan, leaning into him, and both of our towels drop to the floor.
It’s a long time before we’re ready to leave the house again.
