I wasn’t going to magically stop hating myself overnight, not after everything I’d been through. But maybe it was enough to just believe that I deservedhim.

After everything Raz had done to me, maybe I’d earned a little happiness… and if that happiness came in the form of this auburn-haired demon who was looking at me like I was hiswholeworld…

Like he would slay armies for me.

Like he would turn mountains to fucking ash in my name…

Then maybe…

Just maybe I could let myself have him.

Maybe I deserved that much.

Iwas sitting cross-legged in one of the patio chairs at Gulu-Gulu, slurping on an iced coffee and enjoying the dappled speckles of sunlight that were filtering through the trees.

I slid my obnoxious, black, star-shaped sunglasses up on my head as I caught sight of Gabe and Shem ambling past the Bewitched statue, which was sporting a pink, knit witch hat today.

“They’re still here?” Luna piped up to my left, spinning her large amethyst ring around her thumb on one hand and stroking Luci’s white, spotted head with the other.

“I would have thought they’d gone back to Hell by now,” Willow mused as she put some of the finishing touches on the latest greeting card design she was creating on her tablet.

I shrugged.

“Nah. They wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye. Besides, I think they’ve been hooking up with Sköll and Fenrir lately. They stopped coming home a few nights ago, and they’re not exactly fucking quiet. You should hear the noises that come from George’s house when they’re getting it on.

Willow’s eyes widenedin surprise.

“All four of them? Fucking? How doesthatwork?”

I shrugged. “I dunno, Willow. You’re the creative one; use your imagination.”

Speaking of my guardians, Sköll and Fenrir appeared, snatching two chairs from nearby patio tables and dragging them up so they could join us.

“‘Sup, witches.” Fenrir smirked. He was practically glowing.

Even Sköll was grinning behind his shades. He threw his hands behind his head and crossed an ankle over his knee, not too subtly watching along with us as the demons approached the table.

“Yeah, you two are definitely getting plowed by our resident demonic entities.” Luna laughed, and Fenrir wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

“A wolf never fucks and tells.”

“But how else will we keep the rumor mill churning?” Shem chirped as he approached, giving us all a cavalier grin.

Luna and Gabe both chuckled as the cat demon pulled up a chair on his own. He was about to slip into it, but Gabe stole his spot before he could sit down.

“Hey!” Shem protested, giving his partner an exaggerated pout.

Gabe shot him a nefarious smirk and wrapped his hands around Shem’s waist, tugging him down to sit in his lap instead.

This perked Shem right up. He grinned and wiggled happily on Gabe’s knee, leaning back into his chest to accept a chaste kiss on the cheek.

“You guys are so damn sweet I’m gonna get a fucking cavity,” I grumbled, slurping on my iced coffee.

“Only a witch would call two soulless demonssweet.”Luna laughed.

“Hey!Ithink they’re sweet,” Fenrir cooed, making a kissy face at the hellish couple.

Luna smacked him upside the head.
