The Church of Seraphim loomed before us.
Luna, Willow, and Hecate’s guardians flanked us, along with the rest of her coven.
I could feel Shem’s anxiety through our bond, and I gave it a gentle tug to reassure him that I was okay and everything was going as planned.
Our connection flickered as he acknowledged it, and I let out a sigh of relief. The last thing I needed was him panicking and putting himself in danger.
“When we go in, you all need to find the golems. He’ll have his army in there waiting for us. Draw them away so I can deal with him,” I ordered, unable to tear my gaze away from the tall, gaudy doors that led to the church.
“Got it,” Luna said.
She and the rest of the witches were dressed in tight-fitting clothing, and it was weird to see her in something that wasn’t a flowing skirt.
Each of them was armed with a scepter, and they all looked grim yet determined.
Hecate’s eyes were still all white, and she hummed with power. She seemed to grow even stronger the closer she came to her other halves. I knew once she was reconnected with them, she would be a force to be reckoned with.
“We will be outnumbered. No matter what happens, don’t lose sight of the goal,” I reminded our team, and they all nodded, growing even more grim and serious as I took my first step toward the church. My hand closed around the seraphim-shaped handle. I took a deep breath before pushing the door open.
I was going to murder the fuck out of this asshole, and then I was taking my hellcat back home, where he belonged.

We entered the church, and Raziel stood at his podium, holding mass as he waited for us.
Every one of the pews in the massive space was full.
The entire space smelled of sulfur, and a chill rolled through me as each of the church’s patrons slowly turned their heads to stare at us as we entered.
“Ah, our guests have arrived!” Raz bellowed, holding his hands up as if to welcome us.
My gaze darted around the enormous space, and my wings bloomed from my back.
“I told you I would come for you, Raz,” I growled, pointing the war-soaked scepter directly at him.
“That you did, raven.” He smirked at me as if telling me I had walked right into his trap.
“And you brought me the maiden, how kind.”
Hec scoffed beside me, and I glanced at her.
“Ares appeared last time from behind the seraphim statue. I think there’s a staircase down there. That’s likely where you’ll find the golems,” I whispered, and she nodded.
“Got it.”
“We need to get to the statue,” she barked at the others, and all of Raziel’s possessed followers stood as one, turning to face us.
“It’s going to be a bitch to get through them all without killing them,” she muttered.
I glanced at her and shrugged. “I never promised not to kill any of them. If they get between me and my prey, they’re dead.”
She sighed, pinching her nose. “Fair enough… I guess. Just… try not to kill more than you have to.”
“No promises,” I growled before shooting down the aisle directly for the seraphim.
All hell broke loose as Raziel’s congregation attacked.
I beat through them easily as they moved to intercept me.
