“No, I’m definitely not,” I laughed.

“Your reward.” He spoke against my skin, never stopping the assault of kisses.

“For?” I asked.

“Babygirl. It isn’t easy to make me blow a load,” he chuckled.

“Now who’s using pretty words?” I hummed. He bit the inside of my thigh and I flushed.

“I’m serious. You sucked me like a succubus. As if my come would give you eternal life. You know what? I wouldn’t be surprised,” he murmured. His warm breath against my skin caused goosebumps to rise.

“I thought you were angry with me,” I teased.

“Are you reminding me?” he asked.

“No,” I squeaked. I moved my fingers across my closed lips, zipping them shut.

“Mm, that sounded like a challenge to me,” he hummed.

“It wasn’t,sir,” I teased.

I ran my fingers through his hair, making sure to drag my nails along his scalp. His eyes darkened and his chest vibrated with a low growl—the sexiest sound in the world—and right now, it was all mine. Dane made my heart warm, and I was trying hard not to let my thoughts ruin the moment. I played with the hair at his nape before he pulled away. He sat up, his muscles pulling taut, and the sight of his abs made my mouth water.

I’d die a happy woman if I got to map every inch of that stomach with my tongue.

“Like the view?” he teased.

“Y-yeah, I really fucking do.” His gaze turned serious at my breathy admission, all hint of laughter disappeared from his face.

“Did he hurt you?” Dane asked, quietly. His voice was low, and an aura of danger surrounded him. The hair on my arms stood up, but I was at a point in my life where I knew the difference between dangerous and beingindanger.

“What?” I asked.

“Did the dumb ass at the party put his hands on you?” he clarified.

“What are you going to do about it if he did?” I asked teasingly.

“I’m going to kill him,” he said seriously. So much so that I believed him. He wasn’t joking.

“And how are you going to track down a man you don’t even know?” I asked.

“I don’t need to track down a man I have locked up,” he said.

“What?” I asked.

“You think I was done with him?” he asked.

“After you knocked him out? Yeah, I kind of did,” I said.

“No, I knocked him out so my men could pick him up.”

“You’re serious,” I said.

“Dead serious.” He laughed, but there was no humor in his eyes.

“Dane,” I said.

“V,” he said back mockingly. We stared at each other for a few minutes. He wasn’t joking and he was still waiting for my answer.
