“She deserves to know the truth,” Void insisted.
“What truth is that?” Diesel asked, his tone growing hostile. “That you lied to her? That the cameras are still in her room, and you watch them?”
What!?
I huffed and walked to the top of the stairs, halting when I heard Void answer.
“I fucked up, and I’ll handle it with her, but Becca deserves to know the secrets we keep from her. If she knew that Hades ordered us to do it, she’d never forgive him.”
Wow.
“Or forgive us,” Rev added.
A part of me wanted to run down the stairs and call them out. What the hell did they know about me? What secrets?
Hades ordered them to keep it from me? Why?
“Man, I don’t like this. Not after what happened the other night.”
“And what do you think happened, Rev? Did you tell her anything or just fuck her and let her go?”
Void sounded pissed.
“Hey, fucker,” Rev growled. “Don’t poke at me. I’ll fucking kick your ass and have zero regrets.”
Void scoffed. “Shut the fuck up, Rev. Just because you’re a Marine vet doesn’t mean—”
I heard a noise like someone slamming a fist down on the counter. “Fuck off, both of you. Becca doesn’t need to hear this shit.”
I walked downstairs and paused at the edge of the kitchen. “Since none of you know how to keep your voices down, why don’t you tell me what this is all about?”
“It’s nothing.” Rev’s mask slipped into place. Stoic. Focused. Untouchable.
He was lying.
“Diesel?”
“Baby, we got this handled.”
At least he didn’t lie.
“Void?” Yeah, I had to ask. No one else would admit shit.
“Fuck, Blackbird. Don’t put me in a spot where I could say something that would hurt you.”
Hurt me? “Why would that happen?”
A sickening feeling began to form in my stomach. None of the guys answered me.
“Fine.” I pulled out my phone and dialed Hades.
He picked up fast. “Hey, sweet girl.”
“I think you should know that Rev, Diesel, and Void are all here at the house. They’ve been talking and let all your secrets slip, Hades. You really should have told me.”
He went quiet.
“Hades?”
