Fuck. My. Life. 2.0
In a whoosh, she was there—beside me. In a bed that was smaller now but somehow wasn’t small enough because I wanted hercleavedto me.
Skin-to-skin was too fucking far?—
“You okay? You’ve gone stiff.”
I closed my eyes.
Somethinghad gotten stiff alright.
“Yeah. I’m fine. You’re cold,” I lied.
“Oh.” Rolling onto her side, she perfumed the bed with my shower gel, but her uniquely feminine scent had tweaked it. That she’d used my toiletries shouldn’t be a turn-on, but tell that to my dick. “You’ll just have to warm me up then, won’t you?”
I cleared my throat.Time for a subject change.“You do know Lucas had to kill people? That was probably why he spent a lot of time in the gym.”
“I killed someone too.”
“Singular.” I paused. Thought about the gathering of the three sisters in the kitchen earlier… “Right?”
Were trios of women destined to cause me trouble?
I felt her lips curve, and where they touched, goose bumps flickered to life on my pec. “I like that you’re not sure.”
Definitely a nonanswer.
“Trance music would have soothed your innerbeast, hmm?”
“You know Armin Van Buuren?”
I scoffed. “Of course I do.”
“I already knew I liked you, but this confirms it.” She tucked herself tighter into me. “Ma says she has the Sight.”
“Don’t we all?”
Kitty snickered. “She means clairvoyance.”
My brows furrowed. “Does she?”
“She doesn’t predict the lottery numbers, that’s for damn sure. But she was always more lenient with Lucas.”
“You think she Saw something?”
“Maybe. I don’t know why I told you that.” She gave an embarrassed laugh. “Thinking out loud, I guess.”
To soothe her disquiet, I pressed a kiss to her temple. “She didn’t predict this weekend, did she?”
“No. But…” Her hand settled on my abs. “I’m not too sad about that. Are you?”
“I could never regret meeting you, Kitty. Somewhere, somehow, we were destined to come across one another. For this to happen.”
She let loose a soft breath. “You say things that… God, they tie me up in knots.”
I found her hand and bridged our fingers together. “I speak the truth.”
“That’s probably why your intensity gets to me.” Her hand clung to mine. “Do you think we’re in danger?”
