Their eyes meet over my head, and Sly visibly swallows. “What? Am I dying?” I ask in alarm.
“No, Wren,” he says, sounding amused and putting me at ease. “You’re not dying.”
“Then what is it?”
Dex leans close to my ear as he whispers, “You’re aroused.”
It takes me a second to realize what that means. Gasping, I jump away from them. We couldn’t dothat; it was illegal. Not that they hadn’t all done illegal things before, mind you.
Their heated eyes watch me like a lion eyeing an antelope, and I wonder if breaking that law is worth it.
“Let’s get you ready for bed,” Sly says, ignoring my predicament as he grabs my hand and leads me to the big bathroom. He grabs my toothbrush and puts paste on it, then passes it to me as he does the same with his own. Dex comes in and silently joins us, brushing our teeth as I watch them warily.
I was thankful for the diversion. Not that I wasn’t still feeling aroused, but I appreciated them not calling me out on it any further.
Once we’re done, we wash our faces at the double-sink vanity. “Wait here for a second,” Sly says, leaving me alone with Dex.
“You okay?” he asks, his hand coming up to cup my cheek. I nod. “That guy at the bar didn’t scare you, did he?”
“The guy… Oh!” I’d totally forgotten about the guy who wanted to dance with me. “Pete! Is he okay?”
“Is Pete okay?” he asks, trying to hold in a smile. “Yeah, I think Pete will be just fine. Jagger was with him, too.”
“Oh, yeah.” I bite my lip in worry. I know Pete and Jagger can fight, but what if that guy had friends with him? “Should we check on them?”
“If they aren’t back in an hour, we’ll go check.”
“That’s a long time.”
“I want to give them a chance to have some fun first,” Dex says with a smirk.
“Fun?” I ask in confusion.
“He grabbed you,” Sly says, returning with a T-shirt. “If he hadn’t hit him, I would have. Nobody touches you.”
“You guys touch me all the time.”
“Nobody but us. They touch you, they pay.”
His words send a weird thrill through me. I swallow nervously as I ask, “Pete’s gonna hurt him?”
“Yes. Does that upset you?” Sly asks, his green eyes watching me carefully.
I try to picture Pete and Jagger taking turns punching the guy from the bar, expecting to feel revulsion, but instead my gut clenches with… arousal.
I slowly shake my head, and Sly passes me the shirt. “Put this on, then come to bed.”
“Which one?” I ask, knowing there are two bedrooms.
“The one we’re in.” He sends me a heated gaze before leaving. Dex gives me a wink and follows him out, closing the door behind him.
The shirt he gave me is the T-shirt he was wearing before the new clothing arrived. I bring it to my nose, basking in his scent and quickly undress, leaving only my panties on before pulling the T-shirt on over my head. I give my straight hair a quick brush, then quickly make my way across the silentsuite, finding them both sitting in bed, leaning against the headboard in nothing but their boxers.
I freeze in place as my eyes bounce between them. I saw them both shirtless, individually, but together, it short-circuits my brain, as if my eyes don’t know where to focus.
“Come sit between us,” Sly says, patting the Wren-sized space between them. I kneel on the end of the mattress and crawl up the bed.
As soon as I’m sitting, Dex grabs the remote and asks, “What do you say we end our date with a little TV?” He puts his arm around me, pulling me into his side as I nod.
