“I’ve been calling your name. Didn’t you hear me?”
His legs are spread open, so I step in between them.
“I didn’t, I’m sorry.” He gazes up at me, then peruses my body, pausing on my chest on his way back up.
My body heats, sparking excitement inside of me, but there’s something off about him.
“Is everything okay?” I ask.
He smiles and says, “Yes.”
I raise a brow and remind him of our contract. “Condition number one.”
He lets out a small sigh but finally says, “I’m not sure, honestly. I overheard a conversation today… between my parents.”
I furrow my brow. “Did something happen?”
“They mentioned keeping a secret from me. Something they’ve known for a while, but now that I’m in Sicily, it’s apparently made it more difficult to hide.”
“What?” I ask, confused as to what kind of secret they could be keeping from him here.
He rests his head back on the chair and lets out another long sigh. “I have no idea what it could be. I’ve been trying to rack my brain, but I’m fucking clueless.”
“Are you going to try asking them?”
He shakes his head. “No… Well, I don’t know. Maybe I could, but the way they were talking about it seems as if they have no intention of ever filling me in.”
“You could try calling them out. Say you overheard them talking. If they’re put on the spot, they might not think there’s any other way out other than telling you the truth.”
“Yeah, I could. It was just a… strange interaction I had with them all. Ever since the moment I stepped into Ignazio’s house, something felt off, and then overhearing their conversation just solidified it.”
“Do you think it’s something bad?”
Massi’s quiet for a moment. The concentration deep in his eyes. “I haven’t figured that out yet.”
“Well, maybe you can find out at the party tomorrow night?”
“Yeah, maybe,” he mumbles, and as if he metaphorically shook away the dark cloud that’s taken over his mind, Massi leans forward, grips my thighs, and a smile tugs at his lips. “Let’s forget about them.”
His hands slide under my robe to the curve of my ass. “I’ve fucking missed you today.” His tone airs on desire as hegazes into my eyes with a need I’m beginning to think will be insatiable.
I wrap my hands in the thick strands of his silky soft hair. “I was thinking you could show me exactly how much you’ve missed me.”
He yanks me into him, and my hands fall to his shoulders to steady myself. A giggle erupts from me.
“I’m sure that can be arranged.” He slides one of his hands behind my head and pulls me to him, kissing me with so much desire I get dizzy from the effects.
While our heated tongues clash, I crawl onto his lap and straddle him.
Wrapping my hands around his neck, I bear down on him, the excitement getting too real. I need him. I need Massi more than I ever thought I’d needanything.
“I want you,mia moglie,” he says, moving his mouth from my lips down my neck. “Tell me you want me too.”
“I do. I want you, Massi.”
“How?” he demands, peppering kisses along my collarbone. “How do you want me?”
His words send butterflies through me, fluttering their way through every crevice of my being. I want everything Massi has to offer me. I want him to take me the way he hasn’t been able to yet.
