His eyes widened, mirroring mine.

“You felt that too?”

I licked my lips and covered my mouth, frowning at the lack ofekila—proof that we weren’t in the real world.

“Yes, I did. More evidence of our growing attraction.”

“Will this happen every time?”

“Remember, my species doesn’t kiss,” he hedged, taking my free hand and gently kissing it, his gaze fixed on mine. “Instead, we drink from each other, but the rush is the same.”

“You felt something when I…”

I carefully squeezed the feeder in my hand and brought it to my lips, watching his reaction as I gave it a slow kiss, disappointed that it lacked the same strength of taste and scent.

A shudder passed through him, forcing him to close his eyes and making me smile.

This was something I could use in the future.

I chuckled as I released his feeder, pleased with my discovery.

“Could you please explain to me how to show our hometree what we require it to create?”

He blinked a few times and sighed deeply as he rolled his shoulders back.

“What do you have in mind?”

He took a step beside the display table and crossed his hands over it before waving them in opposite directions. The scene was zoomed in, making the area around the hometree model larger.

“First and foremost, I’ll require clothing. Something more durable and protective than what you made me would be preferable.” He frowned as he cast a quick glance at me. I defended myself by raising my hands and shaking my head apologetically. “Not that what you gave me isn’t lovely, but after traversing your land and fighting the pafeldae, it’s clear that I need something that will provide me with more defenses.”

“I understand.” He nodded, the heat of his eyes tracing my body. “I wouldn’t want anything to happen to you, especially if I’m not nearby.”

“How do I get some clothing and weapons made since my own aren’t structural?”

“Imagine what you need and use your hands to make any necessary changes, such as size or shape.”

Zyre took a step away from the display table and turned to face me, his vines perked up as if excited.

A strapless green dress appeared, made of thick leaves similar to those on Zyre’s shoulders and around his waist. The only difference was that the leaves on the dress’s bottom changed from green to blue, then pink and purple.

It was the same colors as the bottom of my rainbow hair.

He waved his hand in a circle, spinning it in place, while staring intently at the dress. The gown’s back featured a crisscross tie made of thick vines that knotted along the top, securing the gown together.

Zyre nodded as our gazes met.

“What do you think? Do you like it?”

“It’s lovely. I adore it.” My stomach fluttered as a smile tugged at my lips. “You’re a natural.”

“You, too, can be.” He motioned to the dress. “If you’re the leader of a team that does something similar, it should come naturally to you as well. It makes perfect sense, given that you’re here as myluwaeri.”

“Let me try.” I squealed with delight, like a child opening the one gift they had hoped to receive for Christmas. “I can’t wait to see what I’m capable of.”

He grabbed the floating dress with two of his vines and used two more to flood it as he motioned for me to try.

I took a few deep breaths, closed my eyes, and envisioned myself dressed like my AltU mage hunter. Slim black pants, a vest covered in green dragon scales, shoulder plates covered in dark purple and black dragon scales, and a mask in the shape of a dragon’s head to match.
