“Are you saying that there’s a chance he may after today?” I shot up and climbed out of my nest. Then, grabbing my caretaker’s hand, I locked eyes with my best friend that I’d had since I came to the station many years ago and let out a whine. “Can you please find him and tell him I want him to be on my roster?”
“And yours alone?” Her mouth pulled back in a teasing smirk.
“Yes!” I pleaded, shaking her arm, making her tablet jerk around. “I don’t want any other omega to take him away from me.”
“But what if there is someone else who smells better? Whose appearance steals your breath away? Who promises you a mansion full of servants to call your own?”
“I don’t care!” My eye caught a glimpse of him on her tablet, and instantly, I stopped shaking her and pointed at the alpha whose smell still lingered in my nose. “I want him. And I don’t want to go on with life with ‘what-ifs’ if I don’t have a chance with him inside The Den.”
“The things you make me do, Elara.” Quinn sighed as she waved her hand over her screen and turned off the tablet, placing it onto her belt. “Since I wasn’t able to give you a gift because he paid for your jewelry, I guess I will have to go find this alpha before tomorrow and convince him to register for your roster.”
“Only.”
“Yes, only for yours.” She combed back my hair from my face, tucking it behind my ears before palming my cheek. Her brown eyes searched mine as early foggy mornings flooded my senses. “I will try to convince him, knowing it will make you happy. If you end up choosing him and the both of you make it work, it will be the best thing a gamma can give to their omega. An alpha of their approval.”
