Tobias growled as the rest of the room laughed at his display.
“Are they always like this?” I whispered, glancing up at Luca.
His half-lidded icy blue eyes widened as soon as he noticed I had caught him with his tongue out in mid-lick. He huffed and leaned back as the purring from his chest intensified.
“Always.” He gave me a warm smile. “You will soon learn to get used to it.”
“There is nothing to get used to,” I whispered, wiggling in my seat as I faced the clan. The only crew member missing was Xavier, who was piloting the ship. “I love it. This is how I always wanted my future clan to act. You can tell how much they love each other, no matter their differences and quirky traits.”
“I wouldn’t replace them for the universe.”
“I’m sorry for interrupting,” Seth said as he stepped beside the window bench. “But would either of you like some homemade tea? It’s an old remedy that is filled with vitamins and minerals to help an omega around her heat.”
“I would love to.”
His downcasted head shot up as a wide grin crossed his face. “I am so glad! I made it for you, hoping you would enjoy something different than what they provide you at the station.”
“I want to explore everything I can,” I explained. “And that includes sampling whatever I can get my hands on. Life on the station was dull, and I’m ready for the change.”
“Let me grab you a cup then, and you can tell me what your favorite flavors are,” Seth replied. His voice was full of excitement. “I can try to match them with what we have on hand.”
“I can help you with locating something.” Jaxom stood from his spot nearby and strolled over with concern on his face. “I tried to make sure we had a wide variety of food and beverages in the storage bay, including all of the crew’s favorites. I am sure there’s something you would enjoy.”
“I am sure I would.”
The lights in the room flashed as ding echoed through the room.
Luca sighed heavily behind me and released his hold on me.
“That’s Eli,” he muttered. “He’s been asking about my opinion on some possible deals in the future. We’ve had a lot of interest from other companies wanting to do a joint venture, and he doesn’t want to wait for my reply. I better go before he tries to fire Xavier again for listening to my wishes about not wanting to be interrupted.”
“I understand,” I soothed, not wanting him to feel guilty leaving me alone. “As you said, your clan is now mine, and I can spend this time getting to know some of my crew members better.”
“Are you sure?” He palmed my cheek and traced along my neck to my mark. He circled his claim with his thumb, sending waves of shocks through me. “I can tell him no and that we are on vacation.”
“We both know that there will be more time. So deal with him now, so when I'm riding my heat, you won’t be bothered.”
“Understood.” He nodded, flicking his gaze between Jaxom and Seth. “Take good care of her.”
