The smells within the room were dizzying as our scents joined with the three males within. Somehow, our combined aroma reminded me of a warm sandy beach, sipping on a tropical drink after eating chocolate-covered berries. Squeezing my legs, I let out a soft pant as my mouth watered from the erotic mixture it had formed.

I could tell precisely when they took in a whiff of my scent as their eyes darkened. Yet the three betas refused to stay focused on me, afraid if they pulled their eyes away from their alpha to me at a time like now, it would mean repercussions.

Leaning into my alpha’s embrace, I welcomed his steady grip on my sides, full of strength and care. The hard rod nestled against my ass filled me with pride, knowing how much he was affected by my presence. But, unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one wanting.

And by the clenched fists and shuffling bodies, it seemed the betas were interested in me too.

But that didn’t mean they got an open invitation to my nest.

Tucking my hair behind my ear, I couldn’t fight myself from smiling.

The Elders explained how just a sample of a needy omega’s aroma or a taste of her could send a room in a frenzy. A smart omega would align themselves with a powerful alpha, who had complete control over their clan. The way the three of them stood respectfully away, not to overcrowd me, was proof of this.

Tonight was for my alpha and me to explore each other—and I wasn’t going to allow anyone that smelled good to join me. Entertainment wasn’t out of the question once I’d been marked. Anyone within my alpha’s clan would be free pickings for me to choose and let them be honored enough for me to use them.

They would have to wait another day to prove themselves first before they were welcomed in my nest—and if anyone deemed worthy enough, I would invite them to join my pack.

“Congratulations.” The curly brown-hair stepped forward. His hazel eyes bounced between us as he combed his hand through his hair. “I am sorry. I didn’t prepare myself for this.” He winced and flicked his wary gaze to my alpha behind me. “I’m sorry, Bossman. Unfortunately, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the arena. At least, that is what they always say.”

“It’s quite all right,” I soothed, shooting him a quick smile. “There is nothing to be sorry for… other than not giving me your names.”

“Oh! Of-Of-Of course!” He stammered his reply, rubbing his hand on his pants before offering it to me. “I am Jaxom, our clan’s inventory manager. I’m in charge of making sure our goods are delivered securely and that the crew has everything they need.”

Grabbing hold of his hand, a sense of warmth washed over me.

“So, will you be the one I go to regarding my nest?”

“Of course.” His eyes widened as he let out a soft nervous chuckle. “I mean… Anything for you. Just let me know what you need.”

“She will need everything,” my alpha announced, squeezing my sides as he pressed his nose on the top of my head and breathed in. “Once I’ve marked her, we will take her to The Center to buy her anything she needs before we leave.”

“When will we decide on our next destination?” The spiked black-haired male crossed his arms and leaned against the table pressed against the wall, jerking his head in our direction. “Shouldn’t we decide before the both of you get too wrapped up in yourselves as you ride her heat?”

“We’ll do it tonight, Xavier,” their alpha growled and let out a huff. “You worry about getting us there safely, and I’ll worry about the clan’s wellbeing.”

“Do you happen to know how far along you are?” the long light-brown man asked, scanning my body with his grayish-blue eyes before taking a deep breath. “Your aroma is sweet, needy, and strong. I don’t have to be a medic to know that you can go in full force any time now.”

“I was on suppressants until recently,” I explained, pressing myself against the hard rod nestled behind me.

His eyes widened as his mouth opened in shock. “That means your heat will be worse than normal.”

“Which means that I—”

The arena elevator dinged as its border lit up, brightening the room. My alpha twisted us around, so we faced the door and guided me to stop back. The three betas automatically stepped in front of us, creating a wall between us.

The concerned medic with the long brown hair stood in front of me. A sudden urge to reach out and braid it rushed through me to see if it felt as smooth as it appeared. I had to stop myself from making a fool of myself by touching someone’s hair without their permission.

No matter that I was an omega, and he was a beta within my new clan. There were still boundaries in place. I hadn’t established myself with his alpha, whose hands were still on my sides, so I shouldn’t be reaching to touch another until there was a mark on my skin, no matter how curious I was.

The elevator door slid open, revealing an annoyed Quinn. She scanned the room, and as soon as her gaze landed on mine, she pursed her lips and shook her head in disappointment.

“You could’ve at least tried to appear that you were interested in the others. Instead, I got an earful of complaints about wasting a lot of precious alpha’s time. Some even went as far as saying that this was all pre-planned.” She stepped out of the elevator and halted on the other side of the beta in front of me. Her lips curled in an amused smirk at the protective wall the three betas made between us. “If it weren’t for my sense of smell, I would be asking you if you had Mr. Coco claim you here and now. By the way, these betas are preventing me from getting any closer to you.”

“You have it wrong, delta,” Xavier spat. “It wouldn’t matter if you were the marton. We protect what’s ours. So until either my alpha or his omega say you can pass, you aren’t getting through.”

I frowned, not liking where things were going. Quinn was my caretaker, and no matter what happened in the future, I still wanted her to be a part of my life. I didn’t understand why they hadn’t moved out of the way. Shouldn’t they know who she was?
