“Always, Kaede.”She relaxed in his embrace, entirely giving herself to him.“You fill the void that no one else can, and I love you for it.”

“Our love created a daughter.”Kaede burrowed himself entirely inside her and groaned.“And now I am going to remind you how.”

Kaede locked his eyes with hers and began thrusting. She raised her hips to meet his lunges as he witnessed her slowly come undone. He leaned forward and captured her lips as she mashed her breasts against his chest, needing to feel closer to her.

Each plunge into her depths sent a spasm of pleasure throughout both of their bodies as it radiated between them. Her heart was racing, thumbing rapidly against his chest as a sense of belonging overcame them both.

Selena screamed each time he buried himself, shuddering as her walls clamped down on his cock. She bellowed as her climax took possession of her body and traveled through their intimate connection. Her legs clamped around him, locking him in place as his own release matched hers.

An orgasmic tsunami erupted from within as electric shock-like tingles spread all over his body.

Breathing heavily, he released her hands and caged her as he watched her calm down from their passionate session. She grabbed a few strands of his curtained hair and lazily toyed with them as her legs collapsed onto the bed.

His cock was still wedged within her depths when he leaned forward, careful not to crush her. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before pressing his to it and stared deeply into the depths of her dazed eyes.

“I am forever yours.”

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Selena

Taking in a deep breath, I purred as Kaede’s unique musky scent invaded my nostrils, instantly relaxing me. Rubbing my cheeks against his soft pillows, my lips curled in a smile as memories of our mating flooded me.

It felt right when I forged us permanently together by forming a mental thread between our shields. Almost as natural as breathing.

Focusing on my connections, I traced my strands and found them gathered off in the distance above.

Gold twisted mental threads resembling the Circuli mates they were connected to—Xylo’s teal, Odelm’s pale green, V’dim’s turquoise, and Z’fir’s emerald—they were all accounted for, forming a protective barrier from the rest of the Circuli mental web.

Separate from the others was my new lone gold and neon-green thread, connected to my guard, who was a short distance away.

Our connection was still fresh, and I didn’t know if I would ever be able to add him to the moon’s mental web—or much less, the clan barrier. He wasn’t a Circuli and had always been a secretive male. By being connected to the greater network of those tied to me, his privacy would be compromised to those who can see the mental threads.

As it was, I was beginning to wonder what my other mates would think about me connecting Kaede to myself. My Circuli mates would gladly welcome it, accepting my choice as my own—but Zirene may become jealous once he found out.

Flickering my eyes open, I sighed deeply and sat up as I took in the darkness that surrounded me. Gone were the bright rays from the dual suns; instead, the marbled purple Lunkai lit up the night sky. The luminescent flora brought a wide grin to my face as they decorated my villa’s estate, glowing brightly as if they were welcoming me back home where I belonged.

“I don’t regret our connection,” Kaede announced as he appeared and sat at the end of his bed. “It may have been formed during our heat of the moment, but it doesn’t mean you forced it upon me nor that I want you to take it away.”

“Are you sure?” I reached over and grabbed his hand off of his lap. “I never want to force you—”

“Oh Stars, Selena,” Kaede breathed, glancing over his shoulder as he locked his glowing neon-green slitted eyes with mine. “You didn’t force me. This connection may be new to me, but in the end, it will only help me learn more about you and be able to protect you better.”

“Do you want me to try to add you to the web?”

“It would be best for you if you didn’t waste time making attempts. I don’t need it, and you don’t need the added stress.” Kaede sighed as he combed his hair back, pulling the strands between his shiny curled horns that glistened in Lunkai’s glow. “Plus, I am already part of a family network, which I share with my sisters and Z has direct access to. Being a part of something organic... and actually living… is something I don’t believe I am capable of handling. My sole focus is you and our unborn daughter, our cubs, and fellow clanbrothers. I hardly doubt that Z will need me to go on a mission that would result in me being pulled from you, especially now that you are the Beacon—even if the Aldawi starts a war with the Quaww or any other foolish enough to stand up against us.”

“If that is what you want, then I will respect your decision.”

Placing my spare hand on my stomach, I traced the clan’s mental threads and studied the location where they gathered. Kaede’s bedroom window faced the waterfall that poured into the estate’s pond. It was the same one that housed not only Kaede’s secret hanger but my nestroom too. Squinting, I tried to make out any sign of either location but failed to find anything out of the ordinary.

“You are the only thing I want,” Kaede breathed, squeezing my hand to bring my attention back to him. “And now that I have you”—he leaned forward and pressed his forehead to mine—“no one will take you away from me ever again.”

“There’s no place I want to be but here, on this moon, with you and the rest of our clan.”

“You are my star.” Cupping my cheeks, Kaede’s eyes searched mine as his thumb traced my face. “No matter what happens, your light will lead me to you, where my home is.”

“Always.”
