“No way! That’s fantastic! God, Jeremy, I’m so proud of you.”

“Thanks, Ev,” Jeremy replied hoarsely. “That means a lot to me.” After a moment’s hesitation, he added, “Will you play?”

There was silence on the other line for a short while. Then Evan asked quietly, “You’re going to play with me, right?”

“Of course. I miss playing with you. I just wasn’t sure I should ask because your wedding is only three weeks away.”

“Pfft,” Evan retorted. “Honey, we have a wedding planner for all that nonsense. I just have to show up and be beautiful.”

I couldn’t help the laugh that burst out of me. Jeremy shook his head in amusement as he said, “You’re always beautiful.”

“Of course I am. So tell me more about this impromptu fundraiser of yours.”

Jeremy told him about the shelter and all they did for homeless families. Then he told Evan about what was going on with the hotel. “Wait,” he said, outrage clear in his voice, “Someone is trying to sabotage your business?”

“Yeah,” I replied, “Michael was able to kick out the hacker, and we were able to get the bad reviews taken down, but the damage has been done. On top of that, a core group of people who have been coming here for years told me they wouldn’t be coming back because I was hosting a wedding for the gays.” I didn’t use the words they’d actually said because…well, who needs to hear that?

“Oh, honey, them’s fightin’ words,” Evan drawled. “I will personally make Moonlight a damn mecca for the gays.”

I had to laugh. I wouldn’t put it past him. “Go for it. Jeremy didn’t tell you about the special deal we have for people coming to the fundraiser. We have a discounted rate for the entire weekend.”

“Ooh. I’ll have to tell Raphael. It can be a pre-wedding practice honeymoon.”

Jeremy snorted. “You know he’ll say yes. You have that man wrapped around your little finger.”

“Truth,” Evan replied. “When’s rehearsal?”

Jeremy cleared his throat. “Saturday morning, starting at nine.”

There was a long silence. “You did not just say that.”

“We’re practicing in the restaurant,” Jeremy reasoned. “Sean is even going to cancel lunch service in the dining room for us. It’s the only time we’re going to get.”

Evan let out a long, drawn-out sigh. “Fine. But there better be lots of coffee.”

“It’s like you don’t even know me,” Jeremy retorted. “There will be two other musicians there. Another pianist and a violinist.”

“Interesting. I…” Evan stopped, and I heard what I assumed was Raphael’s voice in the background.

A moment later, we heard Raphael say, “Hey, Jeremy and Sean.” He sounded tired.

Evan came back on. “I’m gonna go.” His voice went sultry, “My hot fiancé just got home from a very long day at the office, and I’m going to make sure he’s nice and relaxed.”

Jeremy chuckled. “Goodnight. See you Saturday.”

“I’ll be there. You better have coffee.”

“Yes, sir,” I replied.

Evan was still laughing when Jeremy hung up and put his phone in his pocket. He hummed quietly and slid his hand up my thigh. “I believe we have a date with your bed, Mr. O’Neil.”

My cock twitched and began to swell. “I am so down for that, Mr. Fitzgerald.” I bit back a moan when his fingers lightly brushed my growing erection. I was never so happy to pull into the small parking lot behind my hotel as I was at that moment. We set a land speed record getting into my cottage and onto my bed. The downside was we were both still dressed when I tossed him down and crawled over him to take his mouth in a fierce kiss. “Why do you have so many clothes on?” I whined.

Jeremy laughed and nipped at my bottom lip. “You have to move so I can get undressed.”

I let out an exaggerated sigh and flipped onto my back next to him. “Fine.”

He shook his head, grinning as he stood up to undress. “Are you always this dramatic?”
