“No. Once before when I was sixteen. That was enough to stop me from doing it again. Until now.” She dropped lower, the vomiting less this time. “Shit. This is awful.”

“You’ll feel better in a bit now you’ve gotten rid of it.” I knew this from experience. Not very often because I wasn’t that stupid, but there were a couple of times a year when I would be on my own or with Nate and I got pissed off with life and drank stupid amounts of spirits. Never in public, or with a stranger, and I always hated myself the day after, but I still did it again.

She pushed herself away from the toilet and wobbled slightly. I let her hair go and wrapped my arms around her waist, supporting her weight as she got herself up.

“I’m so embarrassed.”

“Don’t be. Happens to us all. Do you want me to get you to your room? I can bring you a brew and toast.” Because even if she didn’t want to eat now, she would when she woke up in a couple of hours.

She shook her head. “Just the kitchen.”

I walked her in there, helping her get settled on the sofa near the breakfast bar, passing her a blanket, and then giving her tea and toast, and another cup of tea. Ryan came back, saying a quickhiandgoodnightand going straight to his room to do whatever it was that was distracting him.

Dee sobered up slowly, more mortification slipping in as she remembered how drunk she was. I teased her, telling her she’d done stuff that there was no chance in merry hell of happening, and rather than get pissed at me she laughed and ate the toast, leaving the crusts.

When she fell asleep, I thought about leaving her there, wrapped up in the blanket, head propped up on the cushions. I’d interfered enough, helping her back to the lodge, holding back her hair, but it was one last thing that would make someone a little more comfortable, even if that someone was Dee.

She was asleep, deep enough to not wake properly, clutching my shirt with her fist instead, and murmuring something I couldn’t understand. Before I could place her down on her bed, she settled further into me, her lashes fluttering as if she was about to wake and I paused, watching, hoping to fuck she didn’t wake up and think I was about to take advantage.

It wasn’t the first time I’d noticed that she was pretty, but it was the first time I’d really noticed that she was beautiful, and in a way that was different to how my ex-girlfriends and casual hook-ups had been.

I pulled her duvet over her – little miss perfect hadn’t made her bed – and turned off the lights as I left, leaving a glass of water on the bedside table.

When I left her room, I heard Izzy’s voice, and what sounded like Nicky Pryce-Jones coming from her room. I didn’t think anything about it; nothing to do with me. My room was dark and felt too cool, the curtains still open. I stripped and got into bed, not bothering with anything other than a pair of shorts as I ran hot during the night. I wished for sleep, but it was tackled every time I nearly drifted off with the image of my fist wrapped with Dee’s hair, the memory of which had been infiltrated with a different setting: her on all fours, my hand pulling at her hair as my lips and tongue trailed along her neck, while I fucked her from behind, my name on her lips because she was asking me to make her come, something which I was happy to oblige.

I stopped fighting the image, my cock hard and thick under the palm of my hand. I shouldn’t be thinking of her as I started to grip my erection, my hand moving slowly at first, a few drops of pre-cum from the tip helping to lubricate the tip. I gave up trying to picture someone else, letting the image of her hair around my fist take me closer to coming, the sounds that she would make when she came feeling real; the tightness of her pussy taking the place of my hand and the taste of skin on my tongue my new favourite flavour, even though it was only a fantasy.

That hair, that tight, but soft body, the idea of making her come and it being me who made her smile. All of that. Every second of that fantasy all combined to make my orgasm explosive, semen shooting over my chest and stomach, my heart racing, my breath short, and the idea of Dee’s sated expression emblazoned in my mind.

That didn’t scare me. I’d fantasized about women before – many, most unattainable. What did scare me was lying there, my bed feeling empty, and knowing she was in the room next door when I wanted her curled around me.

That was what terrified the shit out of me.

CHAPTER12

Dee

My head only slightly pounded.I’d managed porridge with fruit and honey, and even some scrambled eggs with toast, before following coach’s instructions to run a gentle five miles along a track that was, in relation to most of Scotland, flat. I’d showered, brushed my teeth for the seventeen-hundredth time, and called Genny to speak to Toby, before trying my sister again.

Surprise, surprise, her phone was still off. My head throbbed harder. The last little grip on my patience started to loosen.

I was sitting outside, having one last mug of tea before we had to get on the coaches to travel the five hours back to Manchester. It was another dry day, the sky only looking a little cloudy.

It should’ve been darkened by the man approaching, but after he’d looked after me so well last night, it might’ve even brightened a little.

“How you feeling?”

We’d spent the morning with our own squads. There were heads more sore than mine, and no one seemed to have paid much attention to Rowan carrying me back last night. There was more scandal about Izzy and Nicky, who had copped off in front of everyone after I’d left, and Izzy had spent most of the morning feeling hungover and mortified, but I figured she was also enjoying the attention.

I looked up at Rowan. He was freshly showered, his dark hair still damp, and his T-shirt clinging to muscle that I couldn’t help but stare at. I didn’t bother to hide my stare. He’d caught me doing it already, and clearly didn’t care.

“Better than I should be. Thank you for looking after me last night. You were a gent and you didn’t need to stay with me.”

He shrugged and took the seat opposite me. “I think you can buy me an extra meal after I held your hair back.”

“Thank you for reminding me about that.” I hid my head in my hands. “That was horrendous and if you mention it again, I’ll have to never speak to you.”

When I looked up, I saw that his grin was pure evil.
