Jonny laughed. “It will get better. Half the time at the moment you won’t be sleeping properly because you’re worried about her. Wait till baby number three.”

“There won’t be a second baby. The moment she’s asleep or someone’s there to keep an eye of her we’re closing the curtains and our eyes faster than you can saybest contraceptive ever. Credit to you man, I don’t know how you did it. Not on your own.” Scott checked his phone, probably for Keren.

“Is she coming tonight?”

He nodded. “My mum’s here for a few days so there’s no chance of her letting Keren stay in. This is the first time Keren’s left Eden with anyone but me though so she’s bricking it.”

“Your mum brought up three boys. I’m pretty sure she can deal with Keren’s panicking.” Jonny was now almost at the bottom of his pint. He’d have another two and then pace himself.

Scott nodded. “Anyway, did you see the football results from today. I don’t fancy City’s chances after that defeat.”

Like that, the topic was changed.

He had almost finishedhis second drink when the door opened and a group of women, led by Rayah, entered. His eyes straightaway went to her. Tight jeans showed off slender legs that he had intimate knowledge of how tight they could hold on to his waist and her top was figure hugging too. Her hair was straight and shiny and his mind went straight to a couple of nights ago when it was wrapped around his fist as he thrust into her from behind.

The bar was busy with the usual Saturday night clientele, plus some faces that were here for the music. Scott had studied music at university and could’ve made a career out of it, but he’d chosen to come home instead and hadn’t wanted the life of a professional musician or to perform in bands. The nights when either he played or the band he’d put together were on were always the busiest and tonight was going to be no exception.

Jonny headed over to the bar, wanting to buy Rayah her first drink, which meant buying one for the pack of women she was with. He waited for them to get to him, recognising Stevie, the sister of Oliver who was now Severton’s accountant, and Lena, Sorrell’s assistant manager at her hotel. Keren was there as well as Gwensi, Sorrell’s friend, and a couple of other women he didn’t know.

“Can I get you ladies a drink?” He saw Rayah fold her arms, her expression telling.

“You can get me whatever you like.” One of the women stepped forward and offered him her hand. “It’s good to meet you.”

The way she held out her hand suggested she expected him to kiss it, but he simply gave it a firm shake. “Good to meet you. I’m Jonny.”

Her smile fell slightly. “I’m Penny. I’ll have a glass of prosecco.”

He looked at the rest of them. “Who else is having prosecco?”

Everyone apart from Rayah. That was an easy fix. “I’ll get a bottle for the table.”

The women headed over to the table where Sorrell was already sitting with Zack. Rayah remained at the bar.

“I think you may have hurt Penny’s feelings.”

“Why’s that?” He shifted closer to her. The bar was too packed for anyone to overhear unless they were purposely trying to.

“She’s a teacher at my school. She always makes sure she’s supervising the pupils being picked up when you’re there. She wants a piece.” Rayah’s eyes danced.

“I hadn’t notice her. Maybe I should apologise, give her a confidence boost…”

“Totally up to you, Jonny.” Her tone cooled. “We can stop messing about any time you want…”

He hadn’t meant that, but her reaction made him chuckle. Moving behind her, he discreetly wrapped a hand around her waist. “There’s only one woman in here who I’m interested in doing anything with and she’s the one who came all over my cock two nights ago.”

She leaned back into him and he wished that they weren’t keeping this hidden. Holding her in his arms and letting people know that she was his was all he wanted to do right now.

“Are you coming to mine after for a coffee?” Her words were whispered.

“Definitely. Do you want me to stay? I’ll have to set an alarm and get home before anyone wakes up.” Which was what they did when she stayed at his, an alarm early enough that he could get into his own bed if he wasn’t on an early shift.

“I’d like that.”

She was his dirty girl in bed, but she needed holding afterwards. Needed that reassurance and he was more than happy to give it.

“Ray, are you intending on seeing anyone else?”

He felt her laugh.
