Needing to be closer, I lean down and kiss her. I love that she doesn’t complain about having not brushed her teeth. That she lets me have her just like she is.
Finally, I pick her up and carry her across the room before setting her feet on the cool floor, right in front of the window. “Hands on the glass.”
She looks at me over her shoulder, a wicked smile on her face. “Are you going to finally make me come, or are we just playing musical chairs?”
That sass. My palm clamps down on her ass again and her giggles quickly turn into a moan as I thrust inside her. I push her right up against the window, tits on the glass, her entire body exposed, and then I lean really close and whisper in her ear, “Better come quickly, Wildflower. Your friends are almost here.”
Her gaze flies forward to see a familiar car crossing infront of the harbor. They’ve still got a five-minute drive until they get to the big house, where I told them we’d meet, so I’m not concerned—I’d bludgeon Eli’s eyes before I ever let him see her this way—but she doesn’t know that. As expected, Tally’s moans get louder because I know the thrill of almost getting caught heightens her desire.
“Who is that?” she pants.
I reach around and start playing with her clit, knowing she needs the stimulation to get there. “It’s the town brigade. They’re here to help.”
“Really?” Tally whimpers. I’m not sure if it’s the way I’m fucking her or the fact that I asked for help. I’m pretty sure both make her weak in the knees, and my cock swells knowing I’ve made her happy.
She reaches back and grabs hold of the back of my neck, tugging on my hair. “Thank you,” she rasps as I push up into her. Then she kisses me, swallowing any response I could give her. When we both come, we share the same breathy moans and I know nothing has ever felt this fucking good.
Twenty minutes later we’re both dressed and back at the big house. Penny and Rosie are seated at the counter chatting quietly, and Eli and Fletcher are lounging at the kitchen table, coffee cups in hand and a beautiful bouquet of wildflowers in front of them. I’ve noticed random bursts of color around the house during the last week. Little vases filled with flowers that Tally picks on her runs. There’s even a burst of blue and purple right beside the coffee pot that I have to move in order to pour the second pot for the crowd of people here to help. As I do, Tally comes down the steps in a bright pink spandex outfit, ready to get to work.
The Daffodil Festival brought in a much-needed influx ofcash, and according to Gail, we had more guests than ever before. Still, I’ll breathe a little easier once the cottages are ready for the vow renewal, which actually may tip us from the red into the green.
Rosie’s eyes dance as she watches Tally, and it’s like the two of them have an entire conversation as they stare at each other. After a minute, Rosie smiles. “Why do you look like you were just thoroughly fucked, Tally Darling?”
Eli coughs out a laugh while Fletcher glances down at his shoes and Penny snorts. I try to avoid looking at Tally, but I can’t help it and when I glance up, she’s throwing daggers at Rosie. “Get fucked,” she mutters as she heads to me and the cup of coffee I’m holding.
She steals it right from my hands, and I smirk as everyone eyes us. I don’t even think she realizes she just did that in front of them all. Did I prepare my coffee the same way as Tally just so she’d enjoy it if she stole it? Maybe. Though I’ll never admit it.
There’s a creak from the front door opening and then Gail appears, a bright smile on her face. “I thought I heard a few cars this morning. What’s everyone doing here?”
“Walker invited us all to help get the farm ready for the Hall event,” Eli explains.
Gail’s jaw falls open. “Really?”
She glances at Tally, who shakes her head but holds out an arm to welcome her mother. “Don’t look at me. I’m just as surprised as you.” She glances at Penny. “Though it would appear Penny was aware, since she’s here bright and early to help.”
Gail settles beside Tally and wraps an arm around her. “Penny was always better at keeping secrets than you.”
Penny lets out a loud laugh. “Coming from the best secret keeper ever, that’s a compliment.”
“So what’s the plan today?” Eli asks.
I pour myself another cup—black, like I like it—and then turn to face our team for the day. “There are seven cottages that still need a lot of work. Let’s break into groups of three and get them cleaned up today and then hopefully painted tomorrow. Then we need to sand down the furniture so I can re-stain it. Tally already took care of all the windows, so that’s one less thing.”
“And to think you thought Walker was being an ass when he made you do that,” Rosie muses.
Penny laughs and Tally rolls her eyes, then shrugs. “Sorry, but you kind of were.”
I was. But it worked out.
Turning back to the group, I say, “We appreciate all of your help.”
Fletcher shakes his head and holds up a hand. “It’s what we do.”
“Still,” I start.
Rosie nods toward her archenemy. “He’s right. And thank you for doing this for our girls.” She holds up her cup in cheers, and Penny drops her head on Rosie’s shoulder in solidarity.
Gail clears her throat. “Yes, thank you, every single one of you.” She looks around the room, making sure to meet everyone’s eyes. In contrast, Tally holds her coffee cup in front of her face to shield her emotion. But when Gail turns to face her, she smiles at her mother, and the look between them has my heart pinching. I glance away, not wanting to interfere.
