“I want to be your teammate in life, in love, and maybe someday in raising Rowan.” Tyler wasn’t worried about his words being too much. Not for Jamie.
“I want all of it with you.” Jamie kissed him again, like he couldn’t stop. He kissed like he was ravenous, like he wanted to make a home inside of Tyler’s body. When he broke away, Tyler was breathing hard, his body starting to wake up again.
“I’m going to treasure you, okay?” Jamie said, holding Tyler’s gaze. “And I’m going to start by making you breakfast tomorrow before I leave.”
Tyler grinned, pushing Jamie over to his side of the bed before sliding his body against his. Jamie’s arm wrapped around him and pulled him closer. “How long will you be gone?” Tyler whispered.
“Eight days this time around.”
“We’ll be here, okay? We’re not going anywhere.”
“I know, baby.” Jamie’s lips pressed against his forehead. “Fuck, I can’t keep my eyes open.”
“Go to sleep, Jamie,” he said, even as his own eyes started to drift closed.
The last thing Tyler felt before he fell asleep was the brush of Jamie’s hand, soft and lingering, caressing the moth wings at the base of his throat.
