I smile to myself. The honesty in his words makes me feel wanted rather than annoyed like they used to. I move to pull away and hear my name being shouted over the music. Oh God no. I recognize that annoying voice.
“Seb! What the fuck are you doing? Is this why you left me? For a man? You’re not gay, Seb! How could you?” Katie screeches. I think dogs on the West Coast can hear her.
I fantasize what it would be like to wrap my hands around her neck until she stops making sounds.
Until she stops breathing.
CHAPTER 16 - DIMA
Bythelookofdespair on Seb’s face and the shrill sounds coming from the small woman screaming at him, I deduce that this is the ex. Fucking hell she’s annoying and she has only been here a few minutes. How the hell did he manage four years of that nightmare. I decide to step in.
“Can I help you?” I ask, towering over the little blonde who currently looks like an angry chihuahua. She'd be cute if not for the bitch attitude that radiates off her.
“Who the hell are you?” She points her finger at my chest, which I grab in a tight hold.
First mistake, never touch me, it's always been a trigger for me, and it always guarantees that my mood will shift into full attack.
“Do not touch me bitch.” I sneer. “And my name is Dima Kozlov, the owner of this establishment. I believe you know my brother Lev?”
I take great satisfaction when I see the flash of recognition at the mention of my brother’s name. She has repeatedly made moves on him, which he always declines. Nobody wants desperate pussy, especially a used up one like this crazy bitch. I’m still not sure how much Seb really knows about his now ex.
“How do you know Lev?” Seb asks, coming over to this side of the bar.
She doesn't answer, only scowls at me as if that will have any effect. “I didn't realize this was your ex. She often came to Desire asking for work and put the moves on Lev several times when she did. He had to throw her out for making a show of herself.” I delight in telling him. Seb shakes his head. I'm surprised that he doesn't seem shocked by this, so I assume he knows what the little tramp has been up to.
She ignores my comments and steps towards Seb. “You're going to regret this. How could you do this to me? Withhim?”
I laugh at her sudden display of care. “Awww, little bitch pissed off I didn't want you instead?” I mock and she glares. Her head might explode with how red it now is.
‘“Why the hell would I want a criminal like you? I have standards.”
I laugh louder. “Sweetheart, the only standard you should aim for is a guy with a pulse willing to put up with your skanky ass. Get the fuck out and stop harassing my staff, or I’ll have you removed.”
“Don’t worry, I’m going.” She looks over at Seb. “This isn't over. You don't get to humiliate me like this!”
“You're the one humiliating yourself, Katie. Just fucking leave. You’re an embarrassment.” Seb walks over to stand beside me as she huffs and stomps away.
I meet eyes with Simon, who has been close by. “Make sure she leaves. I don't trust the girl.”
He nods. “On it, boss,” he says and then off he goes, following the batshit crazy ex.
“You sure you don't want me to deal with her?” I say to Seb. “She's going to be a problem. Girls like that always are. They hate to lose.”
He shakes his head and I’m quietly happy when he grabs my hand. “Nah, just let her fester. What can she do? She can’t get me sacked or kicked out of my apartment so as far as I’m concerned, it’s best to just ignore her.”
I don't agree but I know my thought process on dealing with issues is different than the average person. She’d be melting in a tub of acid if it were me. Seb heads back to the bar to pick up where he left off. I'm happy to see that she hasn't affected him like I was fearing. I can’t let him go.
As I watch Seb from the comfort of my booth, I think tonight is the night to take full ownership. As hard as it’s been, I've been building Seb up to this moment. I’m not a complete monster, not when it comes to him anyway, but I want him to enjoy being with a man.
After the shit that's just gone down, I need to finally claim that ass. I see Lev and Jules make their way over to me from the bar and they both sit across from me.
“Can I help you?” I scowl. They are ruining the fantasy I have built in my head.
Jules can barely fit in the booth. He is built like a fucking wrestler, all arms and legs, but he is good friends with Lev. They’ve always been wingmen for one another, so I assume they are about to head out.
“That’s not a very nice welcome brother. What’s the matter, Seb not giving you enough attention?” He and Jules cackle like they’re fucking comedians.
“Can you look into Katie for me? Seb’s ex. She turned up here earlier causing a scene. She is looking for trouble and I want to get as much info to use on her as possible.”
