“I saw you out here being all friendly and shit. Don’t get nobody’s toe tagged around this muhfucka, Trouble.” Mozzi ran his fingers through Coast’s hair and stroked her back.

In his mind, she was just that. An inconvenient weakness that was sure to cause him to malfunction if he didn’t get his way with her.

“Try not to get that ass whupped out there on that court.” She took a bite of her cookie and simpered, which left Mozzi’s dick stretching as he leaned down and stole a kiss off her sweet lips.

Alarmed, like everybody else around them at first, Coast didn’t resist his advance. His lips were so soft and moist. Mozzi searched her eyes when he pulled back, his chest suddenly filled with an unfamiliar warmth. Breathless, Coast gaped back at him, lips still slightly parted. He’d put plenty of bitches through the mattress, had them all on his dick or crashing out about him, but Coast was his first real kiss. His moms would do it when he was little, until he was about four years old, and he grew up with a complex about putting his mouth on these nasty hoes.

“You rolling with me when we leave here.” Mozzi lowered his foot and stepped back.

“You don’t tell me what to do,” Coast quipped with an eyeroll.

“Yeah, aight. Try me.” With a sexy simper, he swirled his towel and used it to slap Kong on his back. “Let’s get back to schooling these niggas.”

“I’mma fuck you up!” Kong set the canteen down beside Ayla and sprinted after his brother.

“Girl, Mozzi ain’t playing with you!” Ayla snickered.

“Whatever. Fuck him.” Coast sucked her teeth and took another bite of her cookie.

“You like him.” Inari bumped her shoulder against hers and stuck her tongue out. “You let him kiss you.”

“He caught me off guard! Y’all saw that,” Coast objected with a mouth full of cookie.

“Mmm hmm.” Inari pushed her lips together.

“Oh, don’t even try it, Nari, because you like Moose too. I saw you trying to avoid looking at him while he was standing here.” Ayla called her big sister out.

“Oh, and we gon’ pretend like you don’t enjoy looking at Kong?”

“He’s my boss,” Ayla argued, a red tint flushing her face.

“Yeah, okay.” Inari waved her off. “Let’s make a pact right here and now to swear off all their fine asses.” She extended herarm, holding her hand in front of her while waiting for the other two to join her.

“This is ridiculous.” Ayla sighed, slapping her hand over Inari’s.

Coast set hers on top and took another bite of her cookie.

“Ayla, Kong clearly has working sperm. You tryna get baby mama’d up and around here?” Inari challenged.

“All for one and one for all!” Ayla cheered before they broke their hands apart.

“There you are!” Bee marched over to Coast and the girls with her hands on her hips. “After the game, the auction starts. I need you to come and help me get ready to announce the winners.”

“Okay.” Coast grabbed her snacks off her lap and stood.

“Don’t you two forget to come over, so you can see whose basket you got,” Bee encouraged before walking off with Coast at her side. “It’s for a good cause, and you might just make some old man’s day, although we had a few young men participate this year too.”

CHAPTER NINE

IF ONLY YOU KNEW

“Welcome everyone to the annual Ree Heights Community Day!” Bee gripped the mic in her hand on the small stage set up in the grass.

Tents with tables surrounded the platform, and lined up on a long folding table were the baskets that were bid on for eight different men.

“As you know, the auction is always for providing some kind of recreational activities for our kids over at Haven House. In the past, it has funded field trips, basketball and summer camps, along with clothing and food stipends to provide everything that these children need to thrive. I can’t ever express how much this city means to me and how you all come together when it’s time to make things happen. So, with that said, we are here to auction off these lovely baskets.” She motioned to the table with a wide grin.

Coast hovered in the background, taking in the many faces in the crowd. The tournament had ended. The Blackmoor men and their squad won. When the game ended, most people scattered to different vendor tents or made their way over to the stage to watch the auction unfold. She spotted Inari with Dane, Ayla, and Kong’s kids, who both held ice cream cones in their littlehands. Desiree stood with her guard at her side as her grandsons approached, panting and sweating from their time on the court.
