“Are we sure he’s no longer a problem?”

I suspect he’s talking about Santini’s brother, but equally, it could also be Barrington, the English mafia guy. Both are loose ends.

“Okay, fine. Keep me posted.” He ends the call and sighs.

“Any news?” Since Lorenzo’s death and Remington’s arrest, all the problems plaguing the business have vanished.Funny that.It proves Lorenzo and Remington were behind the issues. In another interesting turn of events, the FBI informant who leaked the information about the suspicious deposits turned out to be Brandon, the accounts guy. No wonder the creepy bastard could afford designer suits; Lorenzo had paid him off.

“Santini’s brother has been arrested in Italy. He’s facing a long list of corruption charges connected to the family’s logistics empire, so is unlikely to be free anytime soon.”

He pushes back from his desk and points to his lap. “Sit.”

“I’m not a fucking dog, Angelo.”

“No, you’re my wife. So do as you’re told.” He loves to order me around.

I sashay over and do as I’m told while plotting revenge.

“And Barrington?”

“He’s gone to ground, but the Kellys are on the case. Declan’s following some leads and will let me know what transpires.”

“The Irish mafia guy?”

“Yeah. His brother is a lunatic, but Declan’s a decent sort.” I snort. He’s head of the Irish mafia, so pretty suredecentisn’t an apt descriptor, but whatever.

I wiggle around and hide my smile when my husband groans. He’s already hard. Probably has been since I walked in. The office door swings open and Kane appears with Luka.

Luka met his agent earlier, so he said he’d stop by and take me out for lunch. We invited Fina, but she won’t leave Matteo.

Matteo is recovering slowly. Despite the doctor’s concerns, he appears to have sustained no major brain damage, although he has no memory of what happened that night and his short-term memory remains poor.

The experts Angelo brought in say his memories might not return, but his short-term memory should improve with time as his brain builds new neural pathways to replace the ones destroyed.

“You ready, cupcake?” Luka calls over Kane’s shoulder.

“She’s not leaving yet,” Angelo growls.

“Are you being a bad girl, kitten?”

I arrange my face into an innocent expression. “Me?”

“She’s being a brat again.”

“I am not!”

“You rolled your eyes at me.Again.”

“You told me to sit like a fucking dog! What did you expect?”

“Kane, close the door and lock it. My wife needs a lesson in obedience.”

Luka chuckles. “Looks like you’ll have to wait for lunch, peaches.”

Luka leans back against the locked door with a wide grin. He loves it when the other two tease me to the edge of reason.

Angelo pushes his chair away from the desk. The floor to ceiling windows behind us offer excellent views of the harbor, but I’m too busy wondering what he plans to do to me to care.

“Is my wife wet?” he muses. Kane drops to his knees and pushes my skirt up my thighs. I always wear a skirt or dress when I come into the office. And heels.
