“Hmm … interesting, that’s all,” Isla says, smiling at Stacey.
“Not so innocent now, are we?” I tease because Isla isn’t believing her bullshit either.
“Okay, I think I have heard enough from you raunchy fuckers. Derrick, I realize I forgot to give Evan his groomsmen presents and his wedding day present. Could you do me a huge favor and take them to the boys’ cabin? Stupid pregnancy brain. I told Camryn she didn’t need to do it and that I was perfectly capable of remembering something little like that. Well, obviously, I can’t.”
“Sure, babe, of course,” I tell her.
“Derrick, you need to tell us what the boys are talking about,” Vanessa states.
“Oh, yeah, get the goss,” Isla agrees.
“This feels like school camp all over again when I used to be put in the middle because I could easily infiltrate both camps.”
“Knock, knock, knock, naughty Santa is here,” I call out into the cabin.
“Come in, Derrick, we’re in the pool,” Evan calls out to me.
I drop off the bags of goodies in the foyer and make my way out to the back area where the pool is. My mouth falls open seeing half-naked rock stars, like Dirty Texas and Sons of Brooklyn, as well as Finn’s gorgeous brothers and the guys from California Bros. all in a pool together.
“Seriously, I think I’ve just died and gone to gay heaven.”
The boys all give me a cheer as I walk over to them, it looks like many beers have been had already. I try not to look over at Chance, who is sitting there sipping his beer.
“You’re looking good tonight,” Christian says, handing me a beer.
“You should see what the girls are wearing,” I tease.
“Tell me they are wearing lingerie and having pillow fights,” Johnny, one of the Sons of Brooklyn boys, asks.
My eyes narrow on him, and all I can think about is all the things Camryn said he did to her. “Little boy, you couldn’t possibly handle the scene that I left. Fuck me, it was turning my gay dick straight.” I grin.
“Tell us you have photos at least, D,” Axel asks.
“Sorry, left my phone in the cabin.” I shrug. “Any of you guys mind if the gay man joins you all?” Just thought I’d double-check, you know, sometimes straight men think I’m going to get handsy in the pool with them.
“Won’t you ruin your pants?” Finn asks.
“True. Do you mind if I take them off? I have boxer briefs on underneath.” They all shrug as if it’s no big deal. Guess, I’m letting my past trauma filter in.
“So, what are you doing over here?” Evan asks.
“Sienna forgot to give you the groomsmen gifts as well as your wedding day gift,” I explain.
“Fuck, guys, I’m a lucky son of a bitch. I think that woman loves me,” Evan declares, raising his beer into the air.
Aw. He’s too cute. I can see how excited he is about marrying my girl tomorrow. “Yeah, you did good.”
“So, what are the girls up to?” Christian questions.
“You know, girl stuff, talking about the wedding, baby shit, normal stuff like making out with each other.”
“I’m sorry. What the hell did you say?” Jake asks me.
“The girls were making out with each other?” Christian slowly repeats, not believing me.
These guys are so easy to play with. “Oh, well, you find out the most interesting things when you playNever Have I Ever.” I continue to tease them. Come on, guys, you’re making this too easy.
“I don’t get how you go from playing a drinking game to friends making out?” Blake questions, confused. Poor young thing.
