“And there were sparks,” Sienna adds.

“There were. It’s also where I found out he lost his leg in that accident.”

“He did? I had no idea,” Stacey adds.

I nod. “That’s why he was pushing me away. He was kind of seeing someone when he had the accident, and basically, when they found out he had lost his leg, they dumped him, and I guess that added to his trauma.”

Stacey and Oscar look shocked. “That’s disgusting, what an asshole,” Stacey remarks.

“I don’t care about his leg. I think it makes him sexier because the guy is damn perfect, I’m glad he’s a little rough around the edges.” I smirk.

“Plus, he’s a cowboy,” Sienna adds.

“He sure knows how to wear a pair of jeans, and I’m hoping one day I get to see him in his uniform because he’s shown me photos and he’s so hot.” I swoon.

Oscar chuckles. “I’ve never seen you like this. Like I’ve seen you have crushes on guys before, but … you seem really smitten and it’s cute.”

“You think I’m cute, Ragnar?” I flutter my eyelashes at him.

“Hey, don’t put words in my mouth. Charlie scares me, he looks like he could kill me with his bare hands,” Oscar jokes.“Wait, is that what the fight was about at the wedding? I knew Charlie punched someone and left early, but I had no idea who.”

“He punched Chance because he forced himself on me.”

Oscar’s eyes widen. “He did what?”

“Look, it’s okay. It’s all sorted. Chance is sorry for what he did, he was jealous because I chose Charlie over him, but I’ve also cut contact with him,” I explain.

“Chance is a good kid, but he’s not for you,” Oscar adds.

“I know that now.”

“So, Charlie is the one?” Stacey asks.

I nod. “My crazy doesn’t scare him off, yet …”

“He’s not going anywhere. But you two do have stuff to sort out,” Sienna adds.

“Didn’t Jackson offer him a job?” Oscar asks.

“He did, but he’s unsure about LA,” I tell him.

“But he’s not unsure about you?” Oscar smirks.

“I sure as hell hope not, that’s why I need to go to Montana, see his world, see if …”

“You can be a cowboy?” Sienna teases.

“Yeah, pretty much.” I grin.

“I’m so happy for you, D,” Stacey says, running up and hugging me. “I need good news at the moment.”

“I’m happy for you, too. Can’t wait to get to know him and welcome him into the Dirty Texas family,” Oscar adds.

“No trials by fire to enter?” I joke.

“He’s best friends with Jackson, who is a scary mofo. So, if Jackson thinks he’s all right then he’s all right by us.” Oscar smirks, which makes me laugh. “But if he hurts you, as a team we will take him on,” Oscar warns.

“Thanks, Ragnar.”
