“I was in shock. I had no idea. Still, I can’t believe it’s happening to me,” she says, rubbing her belly.

“You shouldn’t have had to go through this alone. We would never have judged you,” Sienna tells her.

“Thanks. I haven’t handled it well, but I honestly didn’t know what to do. I was so far from home, and …”

“None of that matters now, you’re having a little boy and you’re here with us,” Vanessa tells her.

“Thank you, guys. I don’t feel like I deserve it.”

I shake my head and walk over to hug her. Isla seems so fragile, and I don’t blame her. “Now that your secret is out, can we please dispose of this hideous outfit?”

Isla bursts out laughing. “I knew you would hate it.”

“This isn’t a cute pregnancy look, please let me dress you. Now the cat is out of the bag, you need to be wearing that belly proudly.”

“You can’t say no to Derrick styling you. He will just keep asking until he wears you down,” Vanessa warns her. She’s not wrong.

“Fine. D, you can dress me.”

I clap with delight. “You are going to be the cutest pregnant woman.”

“This pregnant woman has had too much excitement for one day, I think I need a lie down.”

“Get as much sleep as you can now because once baby comes, you will never sleep again,” Christin advises her.

“I’ll walk you out if you want?” I tell her. She nods and says her goodbyes, as do I.

“Don’t say it, D,” Isla says as soon as we are alone.

“He is going to be hurt when you tell him.”

“I know.”

“He’s missed half a year of his baby growing.”

“Derrick, I know this, while I was throwing up every morning, he was out there fucking who knows who. He didn’t give a shit about me,” Isla tells me angrily.

“He was a dick. I get it. But keeping something this huge from him isn’t the same.” Tears fall down Isla’s cheeks. “Hey, I’m not having a go at you.”

“I fucked up. I know this. What’s done is done now. I’m going to fix it, though, D. Seeing him today made my heartache, and then when he stormed out of the hospital room and how angry he was … I’ll tell him. He will probably hate me for it, but I can’t keep this from him anymore.”

“We are all here for you, don’t forget that,” I remind her.

“Thanks. I’m going to need you, when Oscar finds out he’s going to kill him.”

“Probably. But don’t forget your brother hasn’t been so innocent in all this either. You probably wouldn’t have been in this mess if he wasn’t so overbearing,” I tell her.

“There’s no one to blame but myself.”

“And Finn, because it takes two people to make a baby.”

Isla nods.

I walk her to the taxi area and help her into the car. “I love you. You’ve got this. Call me if you need me, and I’ll be there.”

“Thanks, D,” she says as I shut the door and wave her goodbye.

She’s going to need all the luck she can get because that is going to be one hard conversation to have with Finn.
