“Yeah.” And he miscalculated badly. Once with the head start, and once by giving her the ball.

He leaves me to go and protect the hoop or steal the ball from her.

I tackle Colton before he can join in. We grapple as I try to slow him, and he tries to break free.

Priest hasn’t grabbed Ashley, but he’s not giving her a clear shot either.

She backs up a few steps. I watch as she judges the shot and takes it. Priest leaps for the ball and misses by a whisker. The ball glides silently through the hoop.

Colton goes still. “Did you just win?”

I release him. I’m as stunned as him. “It looks that way. Priest went easy on her.”

“He won’t make that mistake again.”

I nod in agreement.

Ashley’s face is pink, but she’s smiling and that’s worth more than winning.

Priest is a few steps behind her. He shakes his head. “Good game. Next time, it won’t be so easy.”

“I know. I just wanted to put a win on the board. What are you doing tomorrow?”

We all glance at Priest.

Priest crosses his arms. “Circuits.”

I don’t mind them. I can tune out until the timer goes, then switch exercise and go again.

Ashley pulls a face. “I’m not up to your level.”

“I’ll make you an easy one…” He sighs. “We could all do with an easy one.”

Yeah, he knows we’re all feeling a little raw, and he isn’t going to push us. A part of me wants the pain to forget, the rest of me wants something nice. A kind touch. I don’t know how Colton has kept his shit together and can act as though nothing is wrong.

“So you’ll join us?” Colton asks, and even I can hear the hope in his voice.

She nods. “I’ll be here.”

We all watch her walk away.

“Well, that was unexpected.” Colton rakes his fingers through his hair, his gaze tracking her.

“About time,” says Priest.

“So…um…what exactly does she know?” I glance at Colton because he was the one asking about three-ways while we were out rescuing Reed.

Priest sighs. “Everything.”

“When Reed gets back…” Colton says as if there’s no doubt that he’s coming back. “The five of us are going to celebrate.” He lifts his eyebrows as if I didn’t grasp the meaning.

I know exactly what he meant, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. The last time I shared a woman I liked it, but I don’t know if she was pretending because we’d paid or if she actually did. I wasn’t worried about shit like that back then, because I was a shit.

This time I do care.

“Is that what she really wants?” Because if all she wants is Colton and Reed, I’m not going to jump in even though my dick is half hard at the idea of having her mouth on my dick while one of the others fucks her.

Colton nods. “She’s the one who suggested it.”
