He shook his head slowly and sank to his knees. “Not until I’ve had a taste.”

Sam took his time, lazily jacking my cock as he sucked the head. His tongue slid from my balls to the tip, and I was shaking with need. By the time he swallowed my cock, I was coming.

“Damn,” I whispered.

He stood, wiped the side of his mouth, and smirked. “Now we can go to the bedroom.” He reached over and shut off the water.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

Sam

Christmas Eve wasa special time for those who celebrated, obviously, but in Brookridge we took all holidays seriously, from Hannukah to Kwanzaa and all the way to Christmas. Even though it was just me and Bubbles in my apartment, I always went to the tree lot the week before Christmas and got a small tree. This year was no different, except I was able to convince Lukas to get one for his house as well. His was much bigger.

Now, it was Christmas Eve. For the last four years, since my parents had passed, I’d gone to Natalie’s or Ben’s. Maggie would usually join me, but this year she’d treated herself to a week-long trip to the Bahamas. She’d closed the store and everything.

This year was different for me. I wasn’t at either of my friends’ homes. Instead I was nestled close to Lukas on the couch, Bubbles asleep on a plush pillow by the window, the lights on the tree and the fire illuminating the room in a soft glow. Holiday music played low while Lukas sipped his red wine and I enjoyed the best eggnog I’d ever had.

“Is this what you usually do on Christmas Eve?” I asked.

“No. I actually haven’t had a tree for the holidays in years. The day usually just passes by like any other.”

My heart broke for this gorgeous, clearly misunderstood man. I lifted my head to look at him. “You couldn’t spend it with anyone? That guy Vincent I met at the gala said you and he were like brothers.”

He snorted. “I’ve known him a very long time, but we don’t tend to share holidays together.”

“Oh. So you spend them all alone?”

He had his arm wrapped around me and lightly squeezed my shoulder. “It’s been fine, Sam. You worry too much about everyone else.”

“Only those I care about.”

He hummed. “So, you care about me, then?”

I chuckled at his teasing. “It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it?”

He leaned forward slightly to place his wineglass down and did the same with my eggnog. When he reclined, he turned enough so we were facing each other.

“You can convince me.”

I smirked. “Oh? And tell me, Mr. Farren, how can I do that?”

He sighed as if he were exasperated, but there was mischief in his eyes. “I suppose with a kiss.”

“Hmm.” I inched closer to his face until all I could see were his enchanting eyes. “I can do that.”

The kiss started out soft and sweet but all too soon, he slipped his tongue into my mouth and the erotic dance began. Kissing Lukas was as easy as breathing but as intense and terrifying as skydiving.

Needing to be closer, I slid onto his lap. His arms circled my waist, and I gripped his face as our kiss turned from sweet to hungry.

Lukas slid his hands under my sweater, his finger grazing my heated skin. Up, up, up and suddenly my sweater was off and being flung across the room.

I laughed. “Should we go to the bedroom?”

“No,” he said against my neck. “My staff has been excused until after the holiday.”

“We’re alone-alone?”

He pulled away and smiled…God, I loved that look on him. “Yes.”
