“Hell, yes.” His husky voice is enough to cause a shudder of need to flow through me.I always want him so damn much. Will it always be this way?

He kisses me, gently at first, and then the usual desire takes over. It’s not long before the kiss is growing out of control and I’m ready to see if I can quicky undo part of this bodysuit. He gives a growl of frustration when he realizes there’s no easy fix to getting me out of it.

I just deepen the kiss and reach for the front of his slacks, feeling his large bulge straining against the material. He’s so hard, so ready to thrust inside me, and I’m so damn wet. Maybe we can…

A loud beeping sound finally breaks us apart. We’re both breathing heavily.

“What the hell is that?” I ask in a breathless voice.

He pulls his phone out of pocket. “Fucking Line 214,” he mutters in an annoyed voice.

“Shit,” he says succinctly as he looks down at the screen.

“I hope it’s nothing too bad.” Just as I’m about to let my mind take off with all the concerning things the alert could mean, a hard knock sounds at my dressing room door.

“Five minutes, boss!”

“Shit, I’ve got to go.” I take in the sight of my handsome bodyguard one last time before I walk out the door and take the stage. I can’t help but smirk. “You might want to take care of your, um, little problem before you go out the door.”

He glances down and grimaces. His erection is still straining against the fly of his pants.

“Fuck,” he mutters.

“Think of unsexy things like grandmas or…” I giggle, “my father catching us going at it in the hotel room.”

A half smile forms on his lips. “Yeah, that’ll about do it.” The look in his eyes softens as he looks at me. “Good luck, babe. I love you.”

I blow him a kiss as I open the door. “Good luck too, superhero. Love you more.”

I’m still smiling wide as I go out to huddle with my dancers and band before we go onstage.Who cares about a shitty stalker? I’ve got the best man in the world by my side.

Chapter Sixteen

Gabe

I’ll never stop wanting her or wanting to be there for her. -Gabe

“Where?” I demand while my heart thuds in my chest. I didn’t want to tell Gemma, but I’m pretty sure we have the guy.

“West side of stage, next to the storage closet.” King’s voice comes out a little garbled this time, but I know exactly where he’s talking about. We mapped out this whole place days ago.

“On my way.” I clip the walkie-talkie back to my belt and try my best not to sprint like a madman to where my men hopefully have Brian Ackerman detained.

King and Frank are holding onto the sweaty and red-faced suspect when I arrive. I slow down and take a long look at the man who has made my girl live in fear for the last few months.

He’s not an impressive figure. Middle-aged with a gut that hints at a sedentary lifestyle; he doesn’t look dangerous.Oh, how looks can be deceiving…

King holds the guy’s hands cuffed behind his back. “Waiting for the local police,” he says in a low voice, “the guy had a taser on him along with some duct tape and rope in his backpack. Some of the stationary from his notes too.” He blows out a long breath. “It’s obvious what his intentions were.”

Fuck.Rage roils in my gut. This guy was going to take her and do what? What was the intent?

I stalk closer to him. I reach out and grab his chin and he rolls his head to look up at me. “What the hell were you going to do to her, Brian? What did you plan on doing to Gemma?”

His smile is slow and a little dopey. “She’s my wife, dude. I planned on taking her home. Yep, yep, yep. My pretty little one. She was going to live with me. That’s where she should be. Couldn’t escape me for long.”

Shit. This man is crazier than I thought.

I look over at Frank in disgust. “How did he get back here? I know we’ve got guys posted everywhere.”
