I take a long sip of my drink before placing it on the table and moving towards the dance floor. The song shifts to something sultry at the exact moment I slide behind her.
Her hips sway in time to the music, and she moves to face me, wrapping her arms around my neck. My hands grip her hips, pressing her against me. We dance in a slow rhythmic movement, eyes locked on each other.
It’s like nobody else exists in the room but us.
“You’re a good dancer,” she whispers in my ear.
“You are too. I may have to make clubbing a normal part of my routine now. Especially if you’re going to wear red lipstick every time.”
“I can wear it every day.”
“I don’t think I’d be able to focus on anything but you.” I groan against her neck before peppering kisses against the skin.
“Isn’t that kind of the idea?” she teases, sliding her hand along my spine.
She has a point.
Twenty-Five: Audrey
Labyrinth - Taylor Swift
Growing up, I always had this cheesy fantasy of him asking me to be his prom date or being mine, so we’d be able to have a romantic evening, sharing endless slow dances together. But tonight, how our bodies have been grinding up against each other, this is something I never imagined. Especially the way his eyes continually trail up and down my body, the way that he keeps pulling me closer.
After a while, we move to the bar and I grab a water before he whispers in my ear. “I’ll be right back, Auddie.”
I watch as he heads towards Connor, while I gulp down the cold liquid.
A moment later, he comes back to where he left me at the bar.
“Want to go grab a bite?” he asks me.
I’d go anywhere with him right about now. As fun as dancing and being wrapped up in him has been, I just wantto talk. I missed so many parts of Noah, but talking for hours was definitely top of the list. “Sure.”
We stroll down the street, hand in hand, until we come to a hotdog stand. “Have you ever gotten a hotdog from the street?” he asks me after he orders two.
“You know, I did actually see one on the ground the other day and decided I was hungry …” I start, earning a laugh from Noah.
“You’re still not funny, Auddie.”
“Yeah, because I’m hilarious,” I challenge back as the vendor hands us both hotdogs.
We thank him before moving towards a park bench, eating in silence.
“Connor is staying with Adam tonight,” Noah speaks quietly, as if he’s worried I’ll get upset.
Oh.
We lock eyes for a moment before Noah wipes a finger across my bottom lip. “You had some ketchup.”
I dab it with a napkin. “Oh, sorry.”
“You don’t need to apologize, baby. I was just helping you!” He wraps his arm around my shoulder. “And for the record, I don’t expect anything from you tonight. I just didn’t want him to deal with us giggling until all hours of the night.”
I let out a laugh. “Since when do you giggle?”
Noah lets out a fake high-pitched laugh, causing me to snort in the least lady-like way possible before we’re both cackling.
“Please, for the sake of all humanity, never do that again,” I tell him with an amused smile.
