“Well, we have Nana and Bailey. They won’t let us starve, right?”
Phoebe’s snort echoed through guest room. “Oh, sorry. I’ll be sure to speak to the alpha-mate over your concerns.”
Koios gasped. “You wouldn’t! You haven’t earned evil sister rights yet, Phoebe.”
Phoebe walked around them to the door and opened it. “Your sisters are evil?”
Her voice carried, echoing through the large downstairs space in the warehouse. There were several loud, feminine gasps that echoed back.
“She’s evil,” Ben whimpered. “More evil than Natasha and Iris combined.”
“Don’t say that! She’s nice. You’re nice, Phoebe!Nice!”
“I never said anything about nice.” Phoebe walked out onto the balcony that surrounded the upper floor of the warehouse. She looked down into the training space. “Oh look! Those must be my sisters. I guess I’ll go introduce myself.”
Koios bolted forward. “Are you trying to kill me? I’ve already gone into cardiac arrest once this week. I might not survive if you all gang up on me.”
Phoebe hooked her arm through Koios’s. Her wings spread and one wrapped around him. “True, but I made you stop huddling in the room. We must face this together, my twin. All will be well.”
“Evilandsneaky.” Koios looked over his shoulder at Ben. “She’s smart, too.”
“She is. Reminds me of someone else I know.”
Koios couldn’t stop his smile as he guided Phoebe toward the stairs. The entire pack and all of his siblings waited for them. Phoebe’s teasing had broken the ice, though. Where he’d been nervous only a minute ago, now Koios couldn’t wait to introduce her to the others.
Logan waited at the bottom of the stairs with Bailey at his side. For some reason Koios couldn’t explain, he had the sudden urge to hug Bailey. He resisted for about two seconds.
“Screw it.”
Koios grabbed Bailey and pulled him into a giant hug. Bailey squawked for a second then hugged him back. “You’re okay,” Bailey whispered. “You’re home.”
“I have a sister,” Koios mumbled in return. “A twin.”
“I know. I’m so happy for you, Koios.” Bailey squeezed him then pulled away. “Now introduce me.”
Koios nodded. “Phoebe, this is Bailey, alpha-mate of…my pack.”
Bailey squawked again, then leapt back into Koios’s arms. “I knew it. I knew it. I knew it!” He pulled away and put his hands on Koios’s cheeks. “I knew it.”
Logan put his arm over Bailey’s shoulders and his hand on Koios’s neck.
“Are all packs this emotional?” Phoebe asked.
Koios looked over at her and found her tucked against Ben. His mate beamed a smile at him. “Pretty much,” Ben replied.
“Oh goddess, I didn’t even—” Bailey hurried to Phoebe but before he could get through whatever apology he’d planned, Phoebe had wrapped him in a giant hug.
“There, there,” Phoebe said. “Everything is okay now.”
Bailey didn’t let go of her, which was odd considering they’d literally just met. Koios glanced at Logan, who had a puzzled frown on his face as well.
After a few suspicious sniffles, Bailey backed away. He held on to Phoebe’s hands, though. “Sorry I’m a bit emotional. It’s been a whirlwind couple of days. Yesterday, Koios was unconscious, and we weren’t sure if he would survive. Today, he has a twin, and we have hope. I’ve been so scared for him.”
“I’m honored my brother has found so much love in this realm. I only had my father and now…well, I’ve been alone for some time.”
“Not anymore.” Bailey turned and gestured to the others. “This is our pack. Now technically, Iris, Nyx, Alastor, Castor, Pollux, and Jax haven’t said they’re ours, but they are. It’s inevitable.”
Iris laughed and moved forward. She took Bailey’s place in front of Phoebe. “Another sister. You look so much like him.”
