“I can’t help it. They’re gorgeous. And so are you. What am I supposed to do?”
“Exactly what you’re doing, Ben. Exactly this. Now, I’m going to get comfortable, and by comfortable I mean I’m going to sprawl on top of you so I don’t have to lay on my back. You’re gonna pop some of those blueberries in my mouth as you read to me. And if any of that is not okay, you can tell me.”
“That’s all okay. I want to take things slow. I loved kissing you and would love to kiss you a lot more. I’m not ready for any kind of penetration. That’s…my boundary. I’ve waited this long for the right person, and I’m not going to rush it. I feel like I need to say that before you sprawl on top of me, just in case you have other expectations.”
Koios froze half-straddling Ben.
Ben stared into Koios’s dark, gorgeous eyes surrounded by long black lashes. Ben shivered again.
“I’ll wait as long as you want, Ben. I would like to request shirts off, though. I’d love to see your chest and lay against your skin. Would that be okay?”
Ben sucked in a breath. “Yeah. Yeah, that would be more than okay.”
“Good.”
Ben leaned forward and pulled his scrub top off. He tossed it in the direction of his laundry basket before settling back against the pillows.
“Oh that’s perfect.”
Koios laid down with his head on Ben’s chest. One wing blanketed Ben’s legs and one of Koios’s legs settled in between Ben’s. He wrapped an arm over Ben’s chest and snuggled closer. His hot breath heated the skin on Ben’s chest and Ben had to swallow hard yet again.
With each breath, Koios’s body rose and fell along with Ben’s chest. They lay there together for a long time before Koios raised his head and scooted a little further on top of Ben.
“You’re so big and warm. I’m always cold, but not now. I want more of me on you.”
Ben smiled and reached down. He grabbed Koios by the hips and lifted him easily. He settled Koios’s lower body between his legs as Koios pressed his chest to Ben’s. His face hovered above Ben’s. His smile widened and turned a little wicked before he slowly lowered his head again.
Koios’s lips were gentle when they found Ben’s. Slightly hesitant, but Ben let Koios take the lead. He couldn’t explain his fascination with the gorgeous man using him as a giant pillow, and he didn’t care to spend any more time trying. He wanted to enjoy the moment, to enjoy each taste of Koios’s lips, each gentle exploration.
Then Koios reached for the nightstand and picked up the feather he’d gifted Ben earlier. He sat up, straddling Ben’s hips as he did. “I always thought of my wings as a burden, a part of me that was broken.”
He twirled the feather between his fingers before lowering it to Ben’s chest. He traced the edge over Ben’s collarbone and down the center of his chest.
“I never saw their beauty until you showed me,” Koios confessed.
Ben grabbed Koios’s hips, unable to keep his hands to himself. “Then I’m glad you discovered my secret. They’re part of you, Koios. A beautiful part. Do I wish they worked well for you? Yes, I do, because I know they cause you so much pain.”
Koios dragged the feather back and forth across Ben’s stomach. His body responded, his attraction to both Koios and his gorgeous feathers very evident. Koios glanced down between them and grinned. He adjusted his position and settled more firmly over Ben’s hardness.
“Oh wow,” Ben gasped. His hips moved of their own accord, pushing up into Koios’s body.
Koios groaned and leaned forward. “See, I know that you aren’t lying to me, Ben. I’ve known that from the moment you stood up to me and made me stay in that hospital bed when I tried to leave. No one fights me and wins, but you didn’t fight. You protected me from myself, and I didn’t like it. Not then. Now I see you, Dr. Ben Jerrick. I see you so much more clearly. And I like what I see. I like it more than I can explain. I’m drawn to you, a moth to a flame.”
“But I won’t burn you,” Ben swore. “I won’t do anything to hurt you, Koios. I don’t know what this thing between us is. I honestly don’t. I can explain everything. It’s what I do. I can’t explain you, though.”
Koios grinned and brushed his lips over Ben’s once, then again. His mouth hovered over Ben’s and his eyes sparkled with mischief. “And you like that, don’t you?” The teasing tone sent another rush of pleasure through Ben. His hips bucked up again, pushing against Koios’s body.
“I do.”
Koios kissed him again, and then he ran the feather down Ben’s chest to his belly. He deepened the kiss, flicking his tongue against Ben’s lips. Ben opened to him, and Koios thrust his tongue into Ben’s mouth, tasting him deeply. Koios moved his hips, sliding back and forth over Ben’s hardness, his rhythm matching the one set by his tongue.
Ben tightened his hold on Koios’s hips as his body heated. Koios moaned into his mouth and ground his ass against Ben’s hard cock. Ben thrust his hips up with a groan, unable to control the urge to push his hardness more fully against the crease of Koios’s ass. He shuddered at the overwhelming sensations that flooded his body and held Koios tighter as he lost the last of his control. His hips to bucked as his orgasm hit, and he drove them hard and fast against Koios as his release powered through him.
When he finished, Ben’s cheeks burned with embarrassment…until he realized that he held a trembling Koios in his hands. He opened his eyes and found Koios’s head back and his mouth open as he shivered through his own release. When he finished, he opened his eyes and stared down at Ben. His breath came in short pants.
Ben blew out a breath and rubbed his thumbs over Koios’s hip bones. Koios shuddered again before lying down on Ben’s chest. His wings formed a cocoon around them. They settled together as their breathing returned to normal. Ben took a deep breath. Koios’s body raised and lowered as his chest moved. With a little wiggle, Koios settled more comfortably against Ben, and Ben realized he’d never been so content in his life. He closed his eyes and embraced the feeling.
“Read to me, Ben,” Koios murmured sleepily.
